Background: Autonomic dysfunction plays an essential role in dementia, however, it is not known whether electrocardiogram autonomic dysfunction-related indicators are associated with the severity of dementia. In this study, we attempted to investigate whether these indicators are correlated in patients with vascular dementia and Alzheimer's disease compared with normal health individuals. For this purpose, we measured and analyzed the predictive value of heart rate deceleration capacity (DC), heart rate deceleration runs (DRs), heart rate acceleration capacity (AC) along with the plasma levels of lipoprotein-associated phospholipase A2 (Lp-PLA2).

CSVD-related cognitive impairment (CSVD-CI) affects more and more elderly people, resulting in economic losses and burdens on families and society. In recent years, circulating biomarkers have made breakthroughs and played an increasingly important role in the diagnosis, progression, and prognosis of CSVD-associated cognitive impairment, and are expected to be applied to the early clinical detection, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with cerebral small vessel disease.

Objectives: To investigate the effect of Danlou tablets combined with aspirin for treating phlegm and blood stasis syndrome in coronary heart disease (CHD).
Methods: This study is a retrospective study, a total of 120 patients with phlegm and blood stasis syndrome with CHD were randomly assigned to either a control group (aspirin, 100 mg, once daily) or an observation group (Danlou tablets, 1.5 g, three times daily; aspirin, 100 mg, once daily) at a 1:1 ratio.

Acute lung injury (ALI) resulting from bacterial infection poses a significant risk, and its etiology involves the complex interplay of harmful immune responses and blood coagulation. Despite this understanding, the roles and mechanisms of tissue factor pathway inhibitor (TFPI) in LPS-induced ALI remain insufficiently elucidated. In this study, we aimed to explore the effects of TFPI in LPS-induced ALI.

Background: Metabolic syndrome (MetS) is a collection of conditions that includes abdominal obesity, low high-density lipoprotein (HDL) levels, high triglycerides, hypertension, and impaired glucose metabolism, all of which are risk factors for cardiovascular diseases. Of the biomarkers above, lipoprotein-associated phospholipase A2 (Lp-PLA2) has been highlighted as a critical link between inflammation and the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis, which strongly predicts cardiovascular events. Micronutrients like magnesium and zinc are essential in maintaining metabolic and cardiovascular health, but these micronutrient deficiencies occur frequently among individuals with MetS.
