Radiation Safety Assessment of 177Lu-DOTATATE Intra-arterial Peptide Receptor Therapy (PRRT).

Indian J Nucl Med

November 2024

Department of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging, Advanced Centre for Treatment Research and Education in Cancer, Tata Memorial Centre, Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.

Objective: Lu-DOTATATE peptide receptor therapy (PRRT) is an established treatment for patients suffering from neuroendocrine tumors. In the last few years, intra-arterial PRRT is being considered for patients having liver metastatic disease predominantly. The aim of our study is to measure the radiation doses received by the treating intervention radiologists involved in intra-arterial PRRT treatment using Lu-DOTATATE.

Nematodes are abundant and ubiquitous animals which are poorly known at intraspecific level. This work represents the first attempt to fill the gap on basic knowledge of genetic variability and differentiation in Protostrongylus oryctolagi, a nematode parasite of lagomorphs. 68 cox1 sequences were obtained from brown hares collected in five locations in Northern and Central Italy, highlighting the presence of a high amount of genetic variation inside this species.

Purpose: Bypass surgery is regarded as the standard treatment option for symptomatic and hemodynamically unstable moyamoya disease (MMD). However, there is ongoing debate about the most effective type of bypass surgery. We aimed to analyze the long-term outcomes of combined and indirect bypasses for MMD patients through intra-individual comparisons.

Background: Peak‐width of skeletonized mean diffusivity (PSMD) is an emerging biomarker of cerebral small vessel disease (cSVD)‐related vascular contributions to cognitive impairment and dementia (VCID). Higher PSMD values reflect greater white matter microstructural damage, and prior research has related PSMD to sporadic and monogenic forms of cSVD and worse cognitive function. Therefore, we proposed PSMD as a risk stratification biomarker for VCID.

Extracellular vesicles (EVs) have shown great potential for treating various diseases. Translating EVs-based therapy from bench to bedside remains challenging due to inefficient delivery of EVs to the injured area and lack of techniques to visualize the entire targeting process. Here we developed a dopamine surface functionalization platform that facilitates easy and simultaneous conjugation of targeting peptide and multi-mode imaging probes to the surface of EVs.
