Objective: The Boston Naming Test (BNT) is commonly used to assess word-finding in older adults but performance may be impacted by cultural and linguistic factors. This study aimed to assess cultural bias in BNT performance among older adults, explore sources of this bias and provide clinical guidelines for its use in multicultural settings.
Methods: We conducted a retrospective chart review of 525 older adults referred for neuropsychological assessment at a large geriatric hospital in a multicultural Canadian city.
Truth-telling for terminally ill patients is a challenging ethical and social issue for Chinese health care professionals. However, despite the existence of ethical and moral standards for nurses, they frequently encounter moral dilemmas when making decisions about truth-telling to patients with end-stage diseases in China. This article aims to provide ethical strategies for clinical nurses in China regarding truth-telling decisions for terminally ill patients on the basis of their individual autonomy.

Background: Social engagement, characterized as frequency of family/friends contact and activities with others, has emerged as a protective factor for Alzheimer's disease. However, it is unclear how social engagement protects against cognitive decline and whether there are differences across sex and racial groups. Here we determine whether: 1) greater social engagement is associated with better global cognition in older adults at risk for cognitive decline, 2) depressive symptoms and vascular risk are mediators, and 3) the associations vary by sex and race in a cognitively at-risk but clinically unimpaired sample.

Background: Black Americans (BAs), Hispanics/Latinos (H/Ls), and Africans (As) face a disproportionate burden of aging and Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementias (AD/ADRD), coupled with underrepresentation in research. Further, researchers also report a lack of compliance on sensitive social determinants of health data for AD/ADRD research. For instance, the PRAPARE tool reports a low completion rate in community and clinical settings.

However, a lack of standardized SBEDOH methods exists with current methods limited in scope and cultural sensitivity (i.e.
