Glucose-stimulated insulin release from pancreatic β-cells is critical for maintaining blood glucose homeostasis. An abrupt increase in blood glucose concentration evokes a rapid and transient rise in insulin secretion followed by a prolonged, slower phase. A diminished first phase is one of the earliest indicators of β-cell dysfunction in individuals predisposed to develop type 2 diabetes.

Glucose uptake differs in organs and tissues across the human body. To date, however, there has been no single atlas providing detailed glucose uptake profiles across the entire human body. Therefore, we aimed to generate a detailed profile of glucose uptake across the entire human body using the uEXPLORER positron emission tomography/computed tomography scanner, which offers the opportunity to collect glucose metabolic imaging quickly and simultaneously in all sites of the body.

Background: Simple and affordable methods for evaluating Insulin Resistance (IR) have been suggested, such as the Triglyceride-Glucose (TyG) index and its variants, including the TyG-Body Mass Index (TyG-BMI), TyG-Waist Circumference (TyG-WC), and TyG-Waist-to-Height Ratio (TyG-WHtR). The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between these TyG-related indices, which measure IR, and Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA).
Methods: This study analyzed NHANES data from 2007-2008, 2015-2016, and 2017-2020.

However, existing literature primarily focuses on weight gain during individual trimesters, lacking a comprehensive assessment of GWG trajectories across all three trimesters. This study aimed to investigate the impact of pre-pregnancy BMI and changes in GWG trajectories from the first to the third trimester on cesarean section in women with confirmed gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM).
