A case of a 63 year-old woman with acute vertigo, hearing loss and tinnitus caused by a nasopharyngeal carcinoma is reported. Despite a long-standing unilateral Eustachian tube dysfunction, only the occurrence of vertigo attacks lead to the diagnosis in this patient. Inner ear-related symptoms are rare in nasopharyngeal carcinoma and the disease is uncommon in Europe. Skull base tumors are an important differential diagnosis of labyrinth dysfunction that can be detected by MRI. A complete diagnostic work-up is necessary in patients with unilateral tube dysfunction, to allow early detection of this disorder.

Introduction: The core objective of this study was to precisely locate metastatic lymph nodes, identify potential areas in nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients that may not require radiotherapy, and propose a hypothesis for reduced target volume radiotherapy on the basis of these findings. Ultimately, we reassessed the differences in dosimetry of organs at risk (OARs) between reduced target volume (reduced CTV2) radiotherapy and standard radiotherapy.
Methods And Materials: A total of 209 patients participated in the study.

Background: The Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) is intricately linked to a range of human malignancies, with EBV latent membrane protein 2A (LMP2A) emerging as a potential target antigen for immunotherapeutic strategies in the treatment of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC).
Methods: The modified vaccinia virus Ankara (MVA) is universally used in vector vaccine research because of its excellent safety profile and highly efficient recombinant gene expression. Here, we constructed a novel MVA-LMP2A recombinant virus and investigated its specific immune response induction and oncolytic effect.

Radiotherapy (RTx) is a highly effective treatment for head and neck cancer that can cause concurrent damage to surrounding healthy tissues. In cases of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC), the auditory apparatus is inevitably exposed to radiation fields and sustains considerable damage, resulting in dysfunction. To date, little research has been conducted on the changes induced by RTx in the middle ear and the underlying mechanisms involved.

Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) is an Asia-prevalent malignancy, yet its genetic underpinnings remain incompletely understood. Here, a transcriptome-wide association study (TWAS) is conducted on NPC, leveraging gene expression prediction models based on epithelial tissues and genome-wide association study (GWAS) summary statistics from 1577 NPC cases and 6359 controls of southern Chinese descent. The TWAS identifies VAMP8 on chromosome 2p11.

Objectives: To compare an MRI-based radiomics signature with the programmed cell death ligand 1 (PD-L1) expression score for predicting immunotherapy response in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC).
Methods: Consecutive patients with NPC who received immunotherapy between January 2019 and June 2022 were divided into training (n = 111) and validation (n = 66) sets. Tumor radiomics features were extracted from pretreatment MR images.
