Background: Bacteraemia and infective endocarditis (IE) are rare but severe complications of transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI). Limited data exist on the incidence and microbiological profile of early bacteraemia in this population. This study aimed to evaluate the 6-month incidence of bacteraemia, IE and associated mortality following TAVI.

Objectives: The study aimed to explore a definition for complicated coagulase-negative staphylococci bloodstream infections (CoNS BSIs) and to identify predictors for mortality.
Methods: A prospective cohort study was conducted from October 2016 to March 2017 in 26 Spanish hospitals. Complicated CoNS BSI criteria included lack of early catheter removal in catheter-related cases, foreign indwelling implant, persistent bacteraemia, fever ≥72 hours on active therapy, metastatic infection or deep-seated focus, and infective endocarditis.

Background: This study aimed to summarize the pathogenic spectrum of infective endocarditis (IE) and analyze the risk factors for poor prognosis in surgical patients in a tertiary hospital in China.
Methods: We retrospectively included patients diagnosed with IE between January 2013 and January 2022. The pathogenic spectrum was summarized; the risk factors for early postoperative mortality and embolic events were analyzed using multivariate logistic regression.

is a coagulase-negative species responsible for a multitude of infections. These infections often resemble those caused by the more pathogenic staphylococcal species, , such as skin and soft tissue infections, prosthetic joint infections, and infective endocarditis. Despite a high mortality rate and infections that differ from other coagulase-negative species, little is known regarding pathogenesis.
