A spectrofluorimetry for the determination of gatifloxacin (GFLX) was developed based on the strong fluorescence of gatifloxacin after adding fluorescence probe yttrium in buffer solution (pH 7.0) and various factors of influencing fluorescence have been researched. Under the optimum conditions, the liner range was 4.00x10(-8) to 1.00x10(-6)gmL(-1) and the detection limit is 3.36x10(-9)gmL(-1) (correlation coefficient r=0.9997), respectively. The relative standard deviation was 1.1% for 11 measurements of 5.6x10(-7)gmL(-1) gatifloxacin standard solution. The mechanism of sensitizing effect of probe was discussed. The proposed method has been successfully applied to determine real samples and the obtained results are in good agreement with the results of HPLC.

The efficacy of photodynamic treatment (PDT) against deep-seated tumor is hindered by low penetration depth of light as well as hypoxic conditions which prevails in tumor. To overcome this limitation, Near-infrared (NIR) absorbing photosensitizers have been investigated actively. In the present study we evaluated the PDT efficacy of an NIR absorbing chlorophyll derivative 'Cycloimide Purpurin-18 (CIPp-18)' in Human Breast carcinoma (MCF-7) and cervical adenocarcinoma (Hela) cells under normoxic and hypoxic conditions.

1,4-Dihydroxyanthraquinone (1,4-DHAQ, a fluorophore) doped carbon nanotubes@cellulose (1,4-DHAQ-doped CNTs@CL) nanofibrous membranes have been prepared electrospinning and subsequent deacetylation in this work. They have been successfully applied for highly sensitive detection of Cu in aqueous solution. The surface area per unit mass (S/M) ratio of the nanofibrous membranes was enhanced by incorporating the CNTs into cellulose.

Membrane fusion is the first step in the infection process of the enveloped viruses. Enveloped viruses fuse either at the cell surface or enter the cell through endocytosis and transfer their internal genetic materials by fusing with the endosomal membrane at acidic pH. In this work, we have evaluated the effect of the Dengue virus fusion peptide (DENV FP) on the polyethylene glycol (PEG)-mediated lipid mixing of vesicles (hemifusion formation) at pH 5 and pH 7.

This study advances microfluidic probe (MFP) technology through the development of a 3D-printed Microfluidic Mixing Probe (MMP), which integrates a built-in pre-mixer network of channels and features a lined array of paired injection and aspiration apertures. By combining the concepts of hydrodynamic flow confinements (HFCs) and "Christmas-tree" concentration gradient generation, the MMP can produce multiple concentration-varying flow dipoles, ranging from 0 to 100%, within an open microfluidic environment. This innovation overcomes previous limitations of MFPs, which only produced homogeneous bioreagents, by utilizing the pre-mixer to create distinct concentration of injected biochemicals.

Immunotherapy is a promising cancer treatment, but its application is hindered by tumors' low immunogenicity and the difficulty of immune cell infiltration. Here, to address above issues and achieve targeted tumor treatment, we designed the first activated small molecule photosensitizer immune-prodrug HDIM based on pyroptosis, and proposed a self-amplified immune therapy strategy (SITS) for enhanced tumor therapy. HDIMcan be specifically activated by the tumor hypoxiaand then simultaneously initiate immuno-therapy and photodynamic therapy (PDT)-induced pyroptosis with NIR laser irradiation.
