The efficacy of Cyproheptadine, a serotonin antagonist, in preventing the cerebral ischemic damage was tested on experimental model of transient global cerebral ischemia in Mongolian Gerbil. The semi-quantitative histological evaluation of the severity of ischemic damage showed a protective effect of Cyproheptadine, mainly in the anterior cortical areas.

Backgrounds & Aim: Spermatic cord rotation is a common problem in the field of urology, that finally results in necrosis of testicular tissue as well as male infertility. Rupatadine (RUP); a second-generation antihistaminic drug; demonstrated to have a possible protective effect in variable ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) rat models, but its role has not been studied yet in testicular I/R model.
Material & Methods: The present study investigated RUP ability to ameliorate testicular I/R injury.

Amorphous solid dispersion (ASD) in a polymer matrix is a powerful method for enhancing the solubility and bioavailability of otherwise crystalline, poorly water-soluble drugs. 6-Carboxycellulose acetate butyrate (CCAB) is a relatively new commercial cellulose derivative that was introduced for use in waterborne coating applications. As CCAB is an amphiphilic, carboxyl-containing, high glass transition temperature () polymer, characteristics essential to excellent ASD polymer performance, we chose to explore its ASD potential.

Most vegetable crops are severely affected by the uptake of heavy metals from the soil. Heavy metals in vegetable bodies generate reactive oxygen species (ROS) that unbalance the antioxidant defense system. This study was initiated to determine the physiological and biochemical characteristics of spinach plants grown on soil contaminated with heavy metals and responding to Bacillus cereus and Bacillus aerius were isolated from soil contaminated with heavy metals.
