The Kaplan Meier method is being used in oncology in order to calculate the survival rate during/at the end of the study. The purpose of this study is the assessment of the survival period referred to the clinical and histopathological state, laboratory findings, the diagnostic and treatment time. The material of the study is a LIMCO group (n=308 cases) hospitalized in the Oncology Department of the Children's Clinical and Emergency Hospital "Sf. Maria", Iaşi between 1980-1995. The LIMCO group was divided in 2 smaller groups: LMH group (110 cases) and a LMNH group (198 cases). The results statistical analysis was made by chi2, Long-Rank and Breslow test. The results established a series of favorable LIMCO prognostic factors referred to the clinical state I-II, the histopathological type, normal or pathological laboratory findings at the first admission and the quality of the remission after the multimodal treatment.

Background: Kidney tumors, common in the urinary system, have widely varying survival rates post-surgery. Current prognostic methods rely on invasive biopsies, highlighting the need for non-invasive, accurate prediction models to assist in clinical decision-making.
Purpose: This study aimed to construct a K-means clustering algorithm enhanced by Transformer-based feature transformation to predict the overall survival rate of patients after kidney tumor resection and provide an interpretability analysis of the model to assist in clinical decision-making.

Background: As the population ages, the number of octogenarians with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) continues to rise. Morbidity and mortality following pancreatectomy have improved owing to safer surgery and better chemoradiation regimens. This study compares the outcomes and multimodality utilization in octogenarians (≥80 years) who underwent pancreaticoduodenectomy (PD) for PDAC, with a younger cohort.

Purpose: To analyze the associations between adherence to quality indicators (QIs) in the treatment of bloodstream infections caused by methicillin-susceptible Staphylococcus (S.) aureus (MSSA) and in-hospital mortality.
Methods: A retrospective observational study was conducted in patients admitted between 2019 and 2023 to Hospital St.

Sorafenib (Sora) is a first-line treatment for patients with advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). It can significantly improve the survival rate of patients with advanced HCC, but it is prone to drug resistance during treatment, so the therapeutic effect is extremely limited. Here, we demonstrate that an elevated expression of protein kinase p38γ in hepatocellular carcinoma cells diminishes the tumor cells' sensitivity to Sora.

Photothermal therapy, in which a laser is an effective tool, is a promising method for cancer treatment. Laser parameters, including power, irradiation time, type of laser radiation (continuous or chopped), and the concentration of the photothermal agent, can affect the efficiency of this method. Therefore, this study investigated and compared the effects of different laser parameters on the efficiency of photothermal treatment for cervical cancer, which is the fourth most prevalent cancer in women.
