Methods for extracting teeth have remained remarkably static over the decades, with trauma to the surrounding tissues continuing to be a common occurrence. This article reviews the mechanisms involved in traditionally extracting teeth, and discusses a technological breakthrough that enables nonmolar intact teeth to be extracted mechanically and atraumatically. The benefits of using this technology include preservation of the adjacent papillae and underlying host bone, along with dramatically improved patient experiences. Teeth that are extracted with an innovative system may be immediately replaced with implants.

Background: Facial transplantation (FT) provides advanced solutions for severe facial defects by incorporating complex tissues such as bone, skin, oral mucosa and nerves. Oral health plays a critical role in FT, impacting both functional outcomes and transplant prognosis. Despite its importance, literature on oral health in FT recipients remains sparse.

Objective: To investigate how surface treatment affects the color of enamel and dentin, and to evaluate whether the color differences are acceptable.
Materials And Methods: Freshly extracted premolars were prepared using diamond burs (blue, red, and yellow tapes). Tooth surfaces were divided into control and acid-etched areas and treated with phosphoric acid (5, 15, 30, 45, and 60 s).

After tooth extraction, alveolar bone absorbs unevenly, leading to soft tissue collapse, which hinders full regeneration. Bone loss makes it harder to do dental implants and repairs. Inspired by the biological architecture of bone, a deformable SIS/HA (Small intestinal submucosa/Hydroxyapatite) composite hydrogel coaxial scaffold was designed to maintain bone volume in the socket.

Background: Tooth extraction without socket preservation will lead to reduction in the dimensions and volume of the alveolar bone. Bone defects resulting from tooth extraction not only hinder prosthetic reconstruction but also present aesthetic issues and complicating dental implant treatment. Purple leaves contains flavonoids, steroids, tannins, saponins, and non-toxic alkaloids.

Objectives: To evaluate the effectiveness of mini-implant (MI) anchorage versus conventional anchorage for the treatment of skeletal class II malocclusion.
Materials And Methods: The study was conducted on 64 patients with skeletal class II malocclusion. The patients were divided into two groups: 1) 32 patients underwent conventional anchorage, and 2) 32 patients underwent MI anchorage.
