Purpose: The objectives of this investigation were to evaluate the effect of disinfection on surface quality and dimensional stability of more recent, reformulated vinylpolysiloxane (VPS) and polyether (PE) materials.
Methods: Using ANSI/American Dental Association (ADA) specification 19 protocols, 50 impressions of stainless steel dies were made with each material. Ten impressions of each material were randomly assigned to a treatment group: (1) no disinfectant; (2) 10-minute dual phenol immersion; (3) 1-hour dual phenol; (4) 10-minute sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl); and (5) 1-hour NaOCl. Impression surface quality immediately after disinfection was categorized as smooth/shiny, matte, or wrinkled/sticky. Dimensional stability was evaluated by measuring dimensional accuracy according to specification 19 after 24-hour, 1-week, and 2-week storage at ambient laboratory conditions.

Humic acid (HA) enhances colloidal transport in porous media, yet the mechanisms by which the HA adsorption conformation affects colloid transport remain unclear. This study investigated the influence of HA on the transport of petroleum-hydrocarbon-contaminated soil colloids (TPHs-SC) in saturated sand columns. The presence of TPHs on the colloidal surface occupied adsorption sites, hindering HA from forming a horizontal adsorption conformation, as observed on uncontaminated soil colloids (SC).

Purpose: This study evaluated beam quality and radiation dosimetry of a CT scanner equipped with a novel detector and filtration technology called PureVision Optics (PVO). PVO features miniaturized electronics, a detector cut with microblade technology, and increased filtration in order to increase x-ray detection and reduce image noise.
Methods: We assessed the performance of two similar 320-detector CT scanners: one equipped with PVO and one without.
In the realm of 3D measurement, photometric stereo excels in capturing high-frequency details but suffers from accumulated errors that lead to low-frequency distortions in the reconstructed surface. Conversely, light field (LF) reconstruction provides satisfactory low-frequency geometry but sacrifices spatial resolution, impacting high-frequency detail quality. To tackle these challenges, we propose a photometric stereoscopic light field measurement (PSLFM) scheme that harnesses the strengths of both methods.
