Purpose: To investigate the influence of retinal photocoagulation with an indirect ophthalmoscopy contact lens on corneal endothelial cells.
Methods: Seventeen eyes of 17 patients were evaluated, and corneal endothelial cells were measured twice: just before retinal photocoagulation using an indirect ophthalmoscopy contact lens and 33.2 +/- 10.2 days after surgery.
Results: A statistically significant reduction was found in corneal endothelial cell numbers before versus after surgery (P = 0.0003).
Conclusion: Our results show corneal endothelial cells to be decreased by retinal photocoagulation with an indirect ophthalmoscopy contact lens. When a patient with a low corneal endothelial cell density receives retinal photocoagulation using an indirect contact lens, it is important to be aware of the potential for further loss.

Purpose: To evaluate the intraocular pressure (IOP)-lowering effect and safety of up to two bimatoprost implant administrations versus selective laser trabeculoplasty (SLT).
Design: Phase 3 (Stage 2), randomized, 24-month, multicenter, patient- and efficacy evaluator-masked, paired-eye clinical trial (NCT02507687).
Participants: Patients (n=183) with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension inadequately managed with topical IOP-lowering medication for reasons other than efficacy.

Purpose: To explore the function of cyclopamine in corneal neovascularization and subsequent fibrosis after cornea alkali-burn injury.
Methods: In vivo, mice cornea were injured by NaOH, and then treated with cyclopamine, clodronate liposomes (CLO-LPS), and vehicle of cyclopamine separately by subconjunctival injections. Clinical features were observed and pathological characteristics were examined.

Purpose: To analyze the outcomes and frequency of complications after Descemet's membrane endothelial keratoplasty (DMEK) and evaluate the parameters associated with the occurrence of these complications.
Methods: A multicenter retrospective study of 143 DMEK procedures performed consecutively by five surgeons between June 2018 and March 2021 was performed. Surgeon-specific surgical and graft characteristics were also assessed.
