Assessment of affective outcomes is needed in nursing education. This study examined changes in professional attitudes in RN/BSN programs and the relationships between selected affective factors and professional attitudes. Implications for nursing education are identified relative to student advising/counseling and curriculum.

We conducted the first validation of the Depression Anxiety Stress Scales (DASS-21) in Finnish. DASS-21 is a short public domain questionnaire, which presents a way to quickly and effectively screen for mental ill health. We recruited two large samples, one aged 24-45 ( = 3,101 [2,488 women]), and the other aged 60-82 ( = 5,462 [4,473 women]), all employees of the city of Helsinki at inclusion (2017 and 2000-2002).

Music is assumed to express a wide range of emotions. The vocabulary and structure of affects are typically explored without the context of music in which music is experienced, leading to abstract notions about what affects music may express. In a series of three experiments utilising three separate and iterative association tasks including a contextualisation with typical activities associated with specific music and affect terms, we identified the plausible affect terms and structures to capture the wide range of emotions expressed by music.

Methods: A total of 446 blood samples (233 of which were drawn from females and 213 from males, aged from 18 to 77 years) were analyzed in this study.
