Osteoarthritis (OA), a degenerative disease, has attracted extensive attention all over the world. In this study, a rat model involving medial meniscus resection (MMx) and anterior to medial collateral ligament (ACL) operation was successfully established to study the effects of bovine cartilage hydrolysates rich in type II collagen peptides (BIIP) on cartilage protection. The results of histological analysis indicated that oral administration of BIIP at doses of 200 and 500 mg kg d ameliorated cartilage degeneration.

Article Synopsis
  • Scientists are working on new technologies to improve drug delivery and target diseases more effectively, moving beyond traditional methods.
  • Multi-matrix (MMX) technology consists of a complex system that includes multiple layers for drug encapsulation, allowing for targeted and prolonged release of medication, particularly in the colon.
  • Although MMX technology shows great promise with its advantages over conventional systems, its development is challenging and has limitations, prompting major companies to explore its potential further.

Biomarkers are essential tools in osteoarthritis (OA) research, clinical trials, and drug development. Detecting and evaluating biomarkers in OA research can open new avenues for researching and developing new therapeutics. In the present report, we have explored the serological detection of various osteoarthritis-related biomarkers in the preclinical model of OA.

This review focuses on the characterization of (meth)acrylate copolymers - Eudragit®, describing their thermal treatment behaviour, possible interactions between cationic and anionic polymers, incompatibilities related to Eudragits® and their use in the pharmaceutical technology of oral tablets. In summary, Eudragit® copolymers are divided into soluble ones, insoluble ones and a combination of these two types. The combination of soluble and insoluble poly(meth)acrylate gave a new type of polymer, Eudragit® FL.

Molecular wires are essential components for future nanoscale electronics. However, the preparation of individual long conductive molecules is still a challenge. MMX metal-organic polymers are quasi-1D sequences of single halide atoms (X) bridging subunits with two metal ions (MM) connected by organic ligands.
