Eating disorders (EDs), including anorexia nervosa (AN), bulimia nervosa (BN), and binge eating disorder (BED), are associated with bone density loss. Weight suppression (WS) and weight loss speed (WLS) are two critical weight-related factors that may influence bone health, yet their relationship with bone density remains underexplored. This study aimed to investigate the associations between WS, WLS, and bone density in individuals with EDs, focusing on total body and spinal bone density.

A 2-year-old female Assam Hill goat was presented with a clinical history of anorexia, fever, mild anemia, rough body coat, dehydration, tachycardia, dyspnea and swelling of palpable lymph nodes. Hematology revealed low hemoglobin, packed cell volume, red blood cell and thrombocyte count. Biochemical analysis showed increased serum concentration of alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), creatinine and urea in comparison to the normal reference range.

Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) is a monoclonal lymphoid neoplasm derived from B cells and is one of the most common lymphomas among young adults in developed countries. It typically presents insidiously, often as a painless cervical lymphadenopathy or an asymptomatic mediastinal mass. B symptoms (fever, night sweats, and weight loss), fatigue, pruritus, or alcohol-induced pain may be present along with respiratory symptoms in cases of mediastinal involvement.

Canine extraskeletal osteosarcomas are mesenchymal, osteoid producing tumors that can arise in soft tissues without initial involvement of the bones. An 8-year-old intact male Beagle dog presented with anorexia, abdominal pain, intermittent vomiting and melena. The patient had a history of recurrent ingestion of cotton based-toy fragments, but no prior surgical procedures involving the abdominal cavity.

Ferrets (Mustela putorius furo) commonly present with gastrointestinal disease, which can be of noninfectious and infectious origin. Clinical signs are often nonspecific, and can include lethargy, anorexia, vomiting, diarrhea, and melena. Obtaining a detailed history, followed by a thorough physical examination and systematic diagnostic approach are the key to obtaining a correct diagnosis.
