Existing disease cluster detection methods cannot detect clusters of all shapes and sizes or identify highly irregular sets that overestimate the true extent of the cluster. We introduce a graph-theoretical method for detecting arbitrarily shaped clusters based on the Euclidean minimum spanning tree of cartogram-transformed case locations, which overcomes these shortcomings. The method is illustrated by using several clusters, including historical data sets from West Nile virus and inhalational anthrax outbreaks. Sensitivity and accuracy comparisons with the prevailing cluster detection method show that the method performs similarly on approximately circular historical clusters and greatly improves detection for noncircular clusters.

This paper aims to address the challenge of precise robotic grasping of molecular sieve drying bags during automated packaging by proposing a six-dimensional (6D) pose estimation method based on an red green blue-depth (RGB-D) camera. The method consists of three components: point cloud pre-segmentation, target extraction, and pose estimation. A minimum bounding box-based pre-segmentation method was designed to minimize the impact of packaging wrinkles and skirt curling.

The morphological type of the acromion may play a role in the etiopathogenesis of various pathologies, such as shoulder impingement syndrome and rotator cuff disorders. Therefore, it is important to determine the acromion's morphological types accurately and quickly. In this study, it was aimed to detect the acromion shape, which is one of the etiological causes of chronic shoulder disorders that may cause a decrease in work capacity and quality of life, on shoulder MR images by developing a new model for image retrieval in Content-Based Image Retrieval (CBIR) systems.

Matched-field processing (MFP) achieves underwater source localization by measuring the correlation between the array and replica signals, with traditional MFP being equivalent to estimating the Euclidean distance between the data cross-spectral density matrix (CSDM) and replica matrices. However, in practical applications, random inhomogeneities in the marine environment and inaccurate estimation of CSDM reduce MFP performance. The traditional minimum variance matched-field processor with environmental perturbation constraints perturbs a priori environment parameters to obtain linear constraints and yields the optimal weight vectors as the replica vectors.
