YHSeqY3000 panel captures all founding lineages in the Chinese paternal genomic diversity database.

BMC Biol

January 2025

Institute of Rare Diseases, Frontiers Science Center for Disease-Related Molecular Network, West China Hospital, Sichuan University, Chengdu, 610000, Sichuan, China.

Background: The advancements in second-/third-generation sequencing technologies, alongside computational innovations, have significantly enhanced our understanding of the genomic structure of Y-chromosomes and their unique phylogenetic characteristics. These researches, despite the challenges posed by the lack of population-scale genomic databases, have the potential to revolutionize our approach to high-resolution, population-specific Y-chromosome panels and databases for anthropological and forensic applications.

Objectives: This study aimed to develop the highest-resolution Y-targeted sequencing panel, utilizing time-stamped, core phylogenetic informative mutations identified from high-coverage sequences in the YanHuang cohort.

Background: Oxytocin has received considerable research attention for its role in affiliative behaviors, particularly regarding its pro-social effects. More recent evidence has pointed to a broader role of oxytocin signaling, which includes non-social cognitive processes. However, meta-analytic data on oxytocin's effects on non-social cognition is currently limited.

Background: Immunization clinics present an opportunity for passive screening for malnutrition among young children through plotting of growth charts. Passive screening for malnutrition can enable timely interventions and improve morbidity and mortality of under-five children. Therefore, we aimed to increase the plotting of growth charts (weight-for-age) to 90%, among under-five children attending immunization clinics in an Urban Health Centre (UHC) in south Delhi over three months.

ZDHHC20 mediated S-palmitoylation of fatty acid synthase (FASN) promotes hepatocarcinogenesis.

Mol Cancer

December 2024

Center for Intelligent Oncology, Chongqing University Cancer Hospital and Chongqing University School of Medicine, and Chongqing Key Laboratory of Intelligent Oncology for Breast Cancer, Chongqing, 400030, China.

Background: Protein palmitoylation is a reversible fatty acyl modification that undertakes important functions in multiple physiological processes. Dysregulated palmitoylations are frequently associated with the formation of cancer. How palmitoyltransferases for S-palmitoylation are involved in the occurrence and development of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is largely unknown.
