Background: Chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) affects 29%-68% of patients undergoing anticancer treatments within the first month. Traditional cryotherapy methods, such as frozen gloves, can pose risks. This study evaluates the cool-water electric circulation seat (CECS), which maintains a constant 15°C, as a safer alternative.

Amyloidosis is a deadly systemic disease in which misfolded proteins accumulate in human tissue eventually leading to morbid dysfunction in multiple organ systems. The prognosis of untreated amyloidosis is poor. Orthopedic manifestations of amyloidosis include carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS), trigger digit, distal biceps tendon rupture, rotator cuff disease, and lumbar spinal stenosis.

Plant homeodomain finger protein 20 (PHF20) plays a crucial role in various biological processes, but its involvement in renal fibrosis remains unclear. This study investigated the role of PHF20 in renal fibrosis using a unilateral ureteral obstruction (UUO) mouse model, a widely accepted model for chronic kidney disease. PHF20 transgenic (PHF20-TG) and wild-type (WT) mice were utilized to explore how PHF20 influences renal inflammation and fibrosis.

A Caucasian woman in her twenties having asymptomatic papules on the hands for the past 6 months was referred by rheumatology for a skin biopsy. The patient had presented to rheumatologist for arthralgia. On physical examination, multiple, dull red, 2-5-mm papules were observed on her dorsal fingers, with most in the periungual regions.

This condition leads to rapid and significant visual impairment if not treated promptly. This case illustrates an adult man with hypertension presented with unilateral, painless, sudden vision loss occurring 13 hours before admission.
