Objective: To explore the effect of compositie salviae dropping pill (CSDP) on hyperlipemia patients with phlegm and blood stasis syndrome.

Method: Hyperlipemia patients were divided randomly into two groups. One group of 40 patients were treated by CSDP, another group of 41 patients were treated by simvastatin. The TC, TG, HDL-C, LDL-C, ApoA and ApoB levels, ALT, r-GT, IL-6, MDA level and SOD activity were determined before and after being treated.

Result: After 3 months treatment, the TC, TG and LDL-C levels were obviously decreased in two groups (P <0.01, P < 0.05), there is no significant difference between the effective rate of two groups. The ALT, r-GT, IL-8 and MDA levels of treatment group were obviously decreased (P < 0.01, P < 0.05), while the ApoA level and SOD activity increased obviously in those patients (P <0.05, P <0.01, respectively). However, the ALT, r-GT, IL-6, MDA, HDL-C, ApoA level and SOD activity had no significant difference after treatment in control group.

Conclusion: Our study suggest that CSDP have the function of falling serum lipid level without damaging liver function, its function of protecting liver function might related to its function of improving of anti-oxidation and decreasing of inflammation, the mechanism of CSDP disparting and removing phlem and blood stasis in the processes lipid metabolism need to be studied further.

Familial hypercholesterolemia (FH) is a genetic disease, usually with onset during childhood, characterized by elevated blood LDL cholesterol levels and potentially associated with severe cardiovascular complications. Concerning mutated genes in FH, such as , a small subset of FH patients presents a homozygous genotype, resulting in homozygous FH (HoFH) disease with a generally aggressive phenotype. Besides statins, ezetimibe and PCSK9 inhibitors, lomitapide (an anti-ApoB therapy) was also approved in 2012-2013 as an adjunctive treatment for HoFH.

Oxidative modifications of lipoproteins play a crucial role in the initiation of atherosclerotic cardiovascular diseases (ASCVDs). Nowadays, the one effective strategy for the treatment of patients with hyperlipoproteinemia(a) is lipoprotein apheresis (LA), which has a pleiotropic effect on reducing the risk of ASCVDs. The significance of oxidative susceptibility of the LDL fraction in ASCVDs has been extensively studied.

Despite the implementation of next-generation sequencing-based genetic testing on patients with clinical familial hypercholesterolemia (FH), most cases lack complete genetic characterization. We aim to investigate the utility of the polygenic risk score (PRS) in specifying the genetic background of patients from the Latvian Registry of FH (LRFH). We analyzed the whole-genome sequencing (WGS) data of the clinically diagnosed FH patients (n = 339) and controls selected from the Latvian reference population (n = 515).

Unlabelled: L-asparaginase (L-asp) is an antineoplastic drug used in Leukemia and Lymphoma treatment protocols. Alterations in lipid metabolism have been reported in 10-50% of children treated with L-Asp.

Objective: To report an unusual complication of lipid metabolism associated with the use of L-Asp.

Background: The association between serum uric acid (SUA) and dyslipidaemia is still unclear in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). This study aimed to examine the association between SUA and dyslipidaemia and to explore whether there is an optimal SUA level corresponding to the lower risk of suffering from dyslipidaemia.

Research Design And Methods: This cross-sectional study included 1036 inpatients with T2DM and the clinical data were extracted from the hospital medical records.
