Serum anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) concentration and antral follicle count (AFC) are two increasingly popular static measures used to predict ovarian reserve prior to IVF treatment. While they have been shown to be good predictors of oocyte yield during ovarian stimulation, their status as indicators of oocyte quality and pregnancy rates is currently uncertain. The present study measured baseline concentrations of serum AMH and FSH, and AFC from 126 women undergoing IVF treatment. These data were then related to IVF outcomes. As expected, patients with lower serum AMH and AFC produced a significantly (P < 0.001) lower number of oocytes compared with patients with higher serum AMH/AFC. Fertilization rates in patients with lower serum AMH were significantly inferior compared with patients with higher serum AMH, irrespective of whether IVF (P = 0.043) or intracytoplasmic sperm injection (P = 0.006) was used to achieve fertilization. These low AMH patients yielded fewer oocytes, had lower fertilization rates, generated fewer embryos, and had a higher incidence of miscarriage during fresh transfers, ultimately culminating in a halving of the pregnancy rate per IVF cycle compared with the high AMH group.

Radiotherapy is a critical treatment for cancer but poses significant risks to ovarian tissue, particularly in young females, leading to premature ovarian failure (POF). This study examines the therapeutic potential of etoricoxib nanostructured lipid carriers (ETO-NLC) in mitigating radiation-induced ovarian damage in female rats. Twenty-four female rats were randomly assigned to four groups: a control group receiving normal saline, a group exposed to a single dose of whole-body gamma radiation (6 Gy), a group treated with etoricoxib (10 mg/kg) post-radiation, and a group treated with ETO-NLC for 14 days following radiation.

Methods: The present study was a prospective longitudinal analysis that recruited patients aged 35-45 years who underwent simple hysterectomy without oophorectomy for symptomatic benign uterine tumors. Anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) and serum sex hormone profiles, including follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH), estradiol, progesterone, and total testosterone, were measured at four timepoints: before hysterectomy, and 3, 6, and 12 months postoperatively.

Objective: To study the relationship between FK506-binding protein 51 (FKBP51) and ovarian aging and/or diminished ovarian reserve (DOR) in human ovaries by comparing FKBP51 levels in granulosa (GC) and cumulus cells (CC), collected during controlled ovarian stimulation (COS) from women of advanced reproductive age and/or with a diagnosis of DOR with that of young women with normal ovarian reserve. To explore the association between increased FKBP51 expression and human ovarian aging further, expression of FKBP51 was compared in ovarian stroma of post-menopausal versus pre-menopausal women. Lastly, this relation was further queried by comparing ovarian expression of several collagen genes as markers of ovarian fibrosis in 14-month-old wild type (Fkbp5) and Fkbp5 knockout (Fkbp5) mice.
