The prediction of gas chromatographic relative retention times (RRTs) of anabolic steroids, used in the doping control of athletes, was performed by a quantitative structure-retention relationship (QSRR) and multiple linear regression analysis study. A nine-variable model was generated with a multiple correlation coefficient R = 0.991 and relative standard error of less than 3%. Preliminary results indicated that the application of the model, especially in the prediction of RRTs of metabolites of the anabolic steroids, will be helpful.

Purpose: This study examined the effect of resistance training (RT) by itself and in combination with supraphysiological administration of nandrolone decanoate (ND) on the inflammatory, apoptotic, and oxidative stress response in cardiac tissue. The effect of the training and androgen intervention on adiponectin expression, a potential cardio protectant was also examined.
Methods: Forty male C57Bl/6J mice, 3 months of age were randomized into four groups (n = 10 per group).
Chronic treatment with nandrolone decanoate reduces left ventricular contractile response even when combined with strength training.

The detection of endogenous anabolic androgenic steroids misuse in Asian population using the Steroidal Module of the Athlete Biological Passport (ABP) is a challenge due to the high prevalence of UGT2B17 gene deletion polymorphism with low levels of testosterone (T) glucuronide. In this study, the capabilities of different approaches based on urine analysis for the detection of oral T undecanoate administration were evaluated in 13 Asian volunteers, including 11 subjects with del/del genotype and 2 subjects with del/ins genotype. In the first part of the work, the effect on the urinary steroid profile (SP) and on the isotope ratio mass spectrometry markers was evaluated.
