Many-body interband tunneling as a witness of complex dynamics in the Bose-Hubbard model.

Published: March 2007

A perturbative model is studied for the tunneling of many-particle states from the ground band to the first excited energy band, mimicking Landau-Zener decay for ultracold, spinless atoms in quasi-one-dimensional optical lattices subjected to a tunable tilting force. The distributions of the computed tunneling rates provide an independent and experimentally accessible signature of the regular-chaotic transition in the strongly correlated many-body dynamics of the ground band.

The grassland ecosystem forms a critical part of the natural ecosystem, covering up to 15-26% of the Earth's land surface. Grassland significantly impacts the carbon cycle and climate regulation by storing carbon dioxide. The organic matter found in grassland biomass, which acts as a carbon source, greatly expands the carbon stock in terrestrial ecosystems.

Adaptive deep brain stimulation (DBS) provides individualized therapy for people with Parkinson's disease (PWP) by adjusting the stimulation in real-time using neural signals that reflect their motor state. Current algorithms, however, utilize condensed and manually selected neural features which may result in a less robust and biased therapy. In this study, we propose Neural-to-Gait Neural network (N2GNet), a novel deep learning-based regression model capable of tracking real-time gait performance from subthalamic nucleus local field potentials (STN LFPs).

This paper presents a novel design approach for an anomalous reflector metasurface for communication systems operating at 8 GHz band. The main contribution of this work is the development of a general analytical method that accurately calculates the electromagnetic response of realistic metasurfaces with periodic impedance profiles. The modulated surface impedance is achieved by incorporating appropriately sized conductive patches on a grounded dielectric substrate.

In this paper, a miniaturized 2 × 2 MIMO dual-wideband ground radiation antenna targeting Wi-Fi 6/6E/7 standards using 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz frequency bands with sufficient antenna performance was designed. The proposed antenna system contains four identical 4 mm × 6 mm antennas of the internal loop type and two identical 6 mm × 6 mm isolators containing lumped LC elements.

The last decades have brought an interest in ultrasound applications in dermatology. Especially in the case of atopic dermatitis, where the formation of a subepidermal low echogenic band (SLEB) may serve as an independent indicator of the effects of treatment, the use of ultrasound is of particular interest. This study proposes and evaluates the computer-aided diagnosis method for assessing atopic dermatitis (AD).
