Background: Several studies identified affect-regulatory qualities of deceptive placebos within negative and positive affect. However, which specific characteristics of an affect-regulatory framing impacts the placebo effect has not yet been subject to empirical investigations. In particular, it is unclear whether placebo- induced expectations of direct emotion inhibition or emotion regulation after emotion induction elicit stronger effects in affect regulation.

Expression profiling of circular RNAs in sepsis-induced acute gastrointestinal injury: insights into potential biomarkers and mechanisms.

Cytotechnology

April 2025

Department of Critical Care Medicine, Shenzhen People's Hospital (The Second Clinical Medical College, Jinan University; The First Affiliated Hospital, Southern University of Science and Technology), No. 1017, North Dongmen Road, Luohu District, Shenzhen, 518020 Guangdong China.

This study aimed to investigate the role of circular RNAs (circRNAs) in sepsis-induced acute gastrointestinal injury (AGI), focusing on their potential as biomarkers and their involvement in disease progression. Peripheral blood samples from 14 patients with sepsis-induced AGI and healthy volunteers were collected. RNA sequencing was performed to profile circRNA and miRNA expression.

Introduction: This study evaluated the relationship between total plasma and free kidney concentrations of amphotericin B (AmB) in healthy and -infected Wistar rats using microdialysis and has the potential to significantly impact future research in this field and promote the development of antifungal drugs. The findings of this study, which show that plasma levels are a good predictor for AmB kidney concentrations and can be used to optimize its dosing regimen, underscore the importance of this research.

Methods: Microdialysis probe recovery rates were determined by dialysis and retrodialysis , as well as by retrodialysis .

MGM Centre of Human Movement Science, MGM School of Physiotherapy, MGM Institute of Health Sciences, Navi Mumbai, India.

Purpose: Pelvic and hip motion are pivotal in maintaining postural control and energy efficient gait. An insight into influence of age and gender on the coupled motion of hip and pelvis in gait-cycle will guide clinical rehabilitation strategies and pertinent technology-design for specific age-groups. Therefore, present study evaluated pelvic and hip-joint gait kinematics in healthy females and males across adult-hood.

Research Group Healthy Ageing, Allied Health Care and Nursing and FAITH Research, Hanze University of Applied Sciences, Petrus Driessenstraat 3, 9714, CA, Groningen, The Netherlands.

Introduction: Oral health care of older people in long-term care facilities is insufficient, stressing the need for clear evidence-based implementation strategies to improve oral care. In 2013, a systematic review was performed and new evidence was published. This study aimed to gain insights into implementation strategies used to promote or improve oral health care for older people in long-term care facilities, explore their effectiveness and uncover strategy content in behavioral change techniques, and report the differences between the current results and those of the 2013 study.
