The design, synthesis and biochemical characterization of a mechanism-based aryl carrier protein (ArCP) affinity probe that selectively modifies the terminal thiol of the aryl carrier protein phosphopantethein (Ppant) prosthetic group is described. Labeling of the aryl carrier protein was shown to require the cognate adenylating enzyme to channel the affinity probe onto the Ppant cofactor. The selective labeling was established by observation of the phosphopantetheinyl ejection ion via MS/MS and the probe was also found to stabilize an interaction between an aryl carrier protein and adenylating enzyme by an electrophoretic mobility shift assay.

Stimuli-responsive synthetic ionophores allow for spatial and temporal control over ion transport, with promise for applications in targeted therapy. Relay transporters have emerged as a new class of ion transporters - these are anchored carriers that sit in both leaflets of the bilayer and mediate transport across the membrane by passing ions between them. The relays are themselves membrane impermeable, and so must be incorporated into the membrane during vesicle preparation.

The escalating demand for high-power and compact-size advanced electronic devices and power systems necessitates polymers to exhibit superior electrical properties even under harsh environments. However, reconciling the seemingly contradictory attributes of excellent electrical properties and thermal stability poses a formidable challenge for current epoxy polymer (EP) materials and their applications. To meet the need, here two classes of bi-aryl diamine curing agents are described that enable polymers to exhibit well-balanced thermal and dielectric properties with functional bridging groups.

Ovarian cancer is the third most common gynecological malignancy worldwide and the fifth leading cause of cancer-related death among women. This may be attributed to difficulties in diagnosing early-stage ovarian cancer, as it is typically asymptomatic until metastases, and due to the ineffective management of patients with late-stage ovarian cancer. The aim of the present study was to investigate potential therapeutic targets for the treatment of ovarian cancer.

() infection affects nearly half of the global population. Current therapeutic options include the administration of a combination of antibiotics and proton pump inhibitors, although antimicrobial resistance rise remains a big concern. Phenolic monoterpenes, , eugenol, vanillin, carvacrol, and thymol, have always attracted researchers for their multifaced biological activities and the possibility to be easily derivatized.

Substitution of a single atom in a photoactive system is capable of vastly altering its optoelectronic properties leading to the generation of an efficient photocatalyst. In this study, we explore the impact of two-fold single-atom substitutions on the optoelectronic properties and photocatalytic performance of donor-acceptor type conjugated microporous polymers (D-A CMPs). For this, three isostructural triphenylamine (TPA)-based D-A CMPs were synthesized namely PTPA-BT, PTPA-BS, and PTPA-PS containing 2,1,3-benzothiadiazole, 2,1,3-benzoselenadiazole and [1,2,5]selenadiazolo[3,4-]pyridine as the acceptor moieties, respectively.
