There is a critical need for community engagement in the process of adopting artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in public health. Public health practitioners and researchers have historically innovated in areas like vaccination and sanitation but have been slower in adopting emerging technologies such as generative AI. However, with increasingly complex funding, programming, and research requirements, the field now faces a pivotal moment to enhance its agility and responsiveness to evolving health challenges.

Gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST), driven by KIT and PDGFRA mutations, are the most common mesenchymal tumors of the gastrointestinal tract. Although tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) have advanced treatment, resistance mutations and off-target toxicity limit their efficacy. This study develops covalent TKIs targeting drug-resistant GIST through structure-based design, synthesis, and biological evaluation.

Abstract: Recent clinical trials on slowing dementia progression have led to renewed focus on finding safer, more effective treatments. One approach to identify plausible candidates is to assess whether existing medications for other conditions may affect dementia risk. We conducted a systematic review to identify studies adopting a data-driven approach to investigate the association between a wide range of prescribed medications and dementia risk.

Objectives: This paper describes the design and evaluation of a workshop created to develop safer disaster response strategies for fishing communities, using the 2019 Northeast Brazil Oil Spill as a starting point for community-engaged education.
Methods: The 3-day pilot workshop included presentations, structured discussions, and interactive activities with small-scale fishers (SSFs), university researchers, and representatives of local government agencies. The workshop was evaluated through a mixed-method approach that considered qualitative data from discussion groups, collectively built products, and content retention.

Bromodomain and extra terminal domain (BET) proteins play important roles in biological processes such as cell proliferation, differentiation, and signaling, and are involved in the occurrence and development of many diseases, including cancer and inflammatory diseases. Selective inhibitors targeting the first bromodomain (BD1) or the second bromodomain (BD2) have triggered a new wave of research to produce more specific and safer drugs. In this study, 37 novel selective BET BD2 inhibitors with anti-inflammatory activity are selected to construct robust Topomer CoMFA (q2=0.
