The aim of this study was to determine the seroprevalence of Helicobacter pylori and the distribution of anti-H.pylori IgA and IgG antibodies in asymptomatic children aged between 7 and 18 y. We studied the serum samples of 283 children using the commercial ELISA test for the detection of anti-H. pylori IgA and IgG antibodies. The overall prevalence of anti-H. pylori antibodies was 36.4%. The seroprevalence was 35%, 28.3%, 37.5%, and 42.2% for the ages of 7, 10, 14 and 18 y, respectively. Serum IgG antibodies alone were detected in 88.3%, IgA alone in 4.9%, and both IgA and IgG antibodies were detected in 6.8% of samples. The mean levels of IgG antibodies to H. pylori increased with age. We concluded that the prevalence of H. pylori antibodies in Serbian children was high (36.4%), ranging from 35% to 42.2%. The detection of IgG antibodies is useful for the determination of seroprevalence in asymptomatic children.

() is an obligate, intracellular, neurotropic protozoan parasite. After primary infection, parasite undergoes stage conversion from fast-replicating tachyzoites to slow-replicating dormant bradyzoites, particularly in the brain, and persists for a lifetime of an individual. In this study, the impact of infection in individuals with psychological disorder, that is, major depressive disorder (MDD) has been studied.

A 40-year-old man presented to our hospital with subacute progressive muscle weakness in the limbs and leukocytosis. Subsequently, the patient was diagnosed with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) complicated by peripheral motor neuron neuropathy (axonopathy). Serology test for anti-ganglioside GM2 IgG antibody was positive, whereas paraneoplastic syndrome-related and anti-myelin-associated glycoprotein antibodies were not detected.

Objectives: CD209L and its homologous protein CD209 act as alternative entry receptors for the SARS-CoV-2 virus and are highly expressed in the virally targeted tissues. We tested for the presence and clinical features of autoantibodies targeting these receptors and compared these with autoantibodies known to be associated with COVID-19.
Methods: Using banked samples ( = 118) from Johns Hopkins patients hospitalised with COVID-19, we defined autoantibodies against CD209 and CD209L by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).

Background/aim: We aimed to investigate the relationship between serum antidrug antibodies (ADAbs), systemic hypersensitivity, or local injection site reactions to tumor necrosis factor (anti-TNF) drugs and to detect the role of skin tests in the diagnosis of hypersensitivity reactions (HSRs) against anti-TNFs.
Materials And Methods: Sixty-nine ankylosing spondylitis (AS) and 46 rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients taking infliximab (IFX), adalimumab (ADA), and etanercept (ETN) were enrolled. The demographical data, erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), and c-reactive protein (CRP) levels of the patients were determined, and the Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis Disease Activity Index (BASDAI) assessment for AS patients and DAS28 (disease activity score) for RA patients were assessed.

Bio-Layer Interferometry (BLI) has emerged as a versatile technique in affinity-based biosensing, analogous to Surface Plasmon Resonance. BLI enables real-time, label-free detection, and quantification of biomolecular interactions between an immobilized receptor and an analyte in solution. The BLI sensor comprises an optical fiber with an internal reference layer at the end and an external biocompatible layer where biological receptors are immobilized and exposed to the solution.
