The past several decades have seen significant advancements in joint replacement surgery for rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Joint replacement procedures have become vital options for patients with severe joint damage and functional impairment. Background: Arthroscopic Bankart repair (ABR) and the open Latarjet (OL) procedure are the most frequently preferred methods in the treatment of anterior glenohumeral instability. The aim of this study was to compare patients who underwent ABR or OL due to anterior glenohumeral instability in terms of functional capacity, glenohumeral bone loss, residual apprehension, redislocation, and dislocation arthropathy.
Methods: A total of 56 patients who underwent ABR or OL due to anterior glenohumeral instability between January 2018 and December 2021 were evaluated retrospectively.

Background: Among rugby players, anterior shoulder dislocation is challenging to treat during the in-season period. It often leads to recurrent shoulder instability and requires prolonged rest post-surgery. No studies have determined the effectiveness of immobilization, early muscle strength training, or both in preventing reinjury in this population.

Case: A 41-year old man fell from height sustaining displaced radial shaft and ulnar styloid fractures underwent open reduction internal fixation of the radius with early recognition of a radiocapitellar dislocation and longitudinal forearm instability in the early postoperative period. Revision surgery was performed 13 days postoperatively involving annular ligament reconstruction, elbow spanning external fixation, and distal radioulnar joint stabilization. Favorable functional and radiographic outcomes are shown at 1-year follow-up.
