Preliminary experiments were carried out to investigate the feasibility of using an electroencephalogram and heart rates to evaluate the efficacy of finger acupressure on the key points of planta pedis (both soles). Continuous electroencephalograms were recorded from 19 electrodes based on the International 10-20 electrode placement system on 22 university students (21+/-2.3 years). Spectral power changes were obtained at each electrode site. The power of the alpha1 frequency range (8-10 Hz) increased slightly during acupressure although no statistical significance was observed, while heart rates decreased in all subjects (p<0.05). Cerebral cortex asymmetry in the spectral power changes was not clearly observed during the right and left sole acupressure. This preliminary study suggests that a classification of subjects is necessary in understanding brain wave data during acupressure on soles.

The study was carried out to determine the effects of acupressure and massage on pain severity, menstrual symptoms, and quality of life in patients with primary dysmenorrhea. This randomized controlled trial was conducted between January 2021 and May 2021. The study initially enrolled 309 female students with primary dysmenorrhea studying at a university in the Central Anatolia Region of Türkiye.

Purpose: Acupressure is a complementary treatment method performed using fingers and hands to maintain the body's energy balance by stimulating acupuncture points. In recent studies, acupressure has been widely used for minimally invasive procedural (venous assess, intravenous (IV) cannulation, intramuscular injection, heel lancing) pain management in children. This study aims to systematically review the studies that evaluate the effectiveness of acupressure on minimally invasive procedural pain in children.

Background: Subsequent to coronary angiography, procedures performed to prevent bleeding may cause pain in the patient. In this study, we aimed to determine the effect of acupressure on pain level and hemodynamic parameters in patients undergoing coronary angiography.
Method: In this prospective, a two-arm (1:1), randomized controlled trial was conducted, with 124 patients undergoing coronary angiography included.

Introduction Anti-emetic interventions include pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic strategies. Acupressure is a non-pharmacologic and non-invasive therapeutic method that involves applying physical pressure to acupuncture points with fingers or devices. The pericardium (PC6) acupoint is located on the palm side of the wrist between the palmaris longus and flexor carpi radialis tendons, three fingers across the wrist starting at the wrist crease.
