Prognostic Value of Response Evaluation Using PSMA PET/CT in Patients with Metastatic Prostate Cancer (RECIP 1.0): A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis.

Acad Radiol

January 2025

University Medical Imaging Toronto, Joint Department of Medical Imaging, University Health Network-Sinai Health System -Women's College Hospital, University of Toronto, Toronto, ON, Canada (S.A.M., P.V.H., U.M., A.B.D.). Electronic address:

Rationale And Objectives: Recently, the Response Evaluation Using PSMA PET/CT in Patients with Metastatic Castration-Resistant Prostate Cancer (RECIP 1.0) was proposed to better evaluate treatment response in prostate cancer patients using PET/CT with prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) than more traditional approaches like metabolic PET evaluation response criteria in solid tumor (PERCIST 1.0).

Purpose: To validate the Axillary Reverse Mapping (ARM) technique with indocyanine green (ICG), focusing on the detection rate and the procedure's feasibility. The predictive factors for metastatic involvement of ARM nodes are also analyzed to define the target population for ARM indication.

Methods: This prospective, observational, non-randomized study of patients with breast cancer included patients with an indication for axillary lymph node dissection (ALND) performed between June 2021 and June 2023.

The presence of pharmaceuticals in the aquatic environment is increasing due to their growing use for human health. Although most studies are based on short exposures to these contaminants, the present study has emerged from the need to study pharmaceuticals in aquatic organisms over a long-term exposure to understand any multi-generational chronic effects and alterations regarding habitat selection. Therefore, this study shows: (1) the ability of Daphnia magna to colonize environments contaminated with caffeine, ibuprofen and fluoxetine, and (2) the effect of these pharmaceuticals on reproduction and habitat selection (under two scenarios: with and without food) after a long-term exposure period of three generations.

The mechanisms of thermal processing techniques on modifying structural, functional and flour-processing properties of whole-grain highland barley.

Food Chem

December 2024

Glycomics and Glycan Bioengineering Research Center, College of Food Science &Technology, Nanjing Agricultural University, Nanjing 210095, PR China. Electronic address:

The mechanisms underlying three thermal processing methods, namely hot-air drying, microwave irradiation, and heat fluidization, were systematically investigated to evaluate their effects on the structural, functional, and flour-processing properties of whole-grain highland barley. Starch granules were partially damaged when treated with hot-air drying and microwave irradiation. However, these granules were predominantly aggregated or encapsulated in proteins following heat fluidization.

Background: Brain metastases (BMs) are common in human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-positive advanced breast cancer, increasing morbidity and mortality. Systemic therapy for BMs can be effective, with the triple combination of trastuzumab, capecitabine, and tucatinib being a potential standard. More recently, intracranial activity of antibody-drug conjugates has been reported, but the size of individual studies has been small.
