Published: June 2007

In 2003 the International Headache Society (IHS) published the second edition of the International Classification of Headache Disorders. Diagnostic criteria for no less than 206 separate headache diagnoses are presented in the parts (I) primary headaches, (II) secondary headaches and (III) cranial neuralgia, central and primary facial pain. The headaches are classified according to the etiology in case of the secondary headaches and according to the phenomenology in case of the primary headaches. It is the task of the headache specialist to identify the correct headache diagnose with the smallest effort possible. Both, the differentiation between secondary and primary headaches and the differentiation between the various primary headaches are of equal importance.

Background: Diagnosing headache disorders poses significant challenges, particularly in primary and secondary levels of care (PSLC), potentially leading to misdiagnosis and underdiagnosis. This study evaluates diagnostic agreement for migraine, tension-type headache (TTH), and cluster headache (CH) between PSLC and tertiary care (TLC) and assesses adherence to the International Classification of Headache Disorders 3rd edition (ICHD-3) guidelines.

Methods: A retrospective, cross-sectional analysis was conducted at Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin's tertiary headache center.

Background: Infliximab and adalimumab are the only biologics thus far approved for paediatric patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), so other biologics, such as vedolizumab, are prescribed off-label. Despite its frequent use, prospective data for vedolizumab treatment in children are available only for short-term induction outcomes. We aimed to evaluate the long-term efficacy and safety of maintenance therapy with vedolizumab in paediatric patients with IBD.

The Wharton Lab has collected CSF for over 10 years as a primary endpoint in NIH/NIA funded longitudinal observational studies and clinical trials in cognitively normal individuals with a parental history of Alzheimer's disease (AD). LPs provide vital data on AD risk and progression and time specific information on efficacy for clinical interventions, yet few investigators include research LPs, for fear of clinical implications, lack of specialized clinicians, and perceived unwillingness of participants to consent to LPs, particularly in minoritized participants METHOD: Comprehensive data is collected on willingness to take part in LP, safety, and procedure specifics, including side effects. Twenty milliliters of CSF are obtained using fluid drip or aspiration methods.
