Introduction: The diagnostic yield of flexible bronchoscopy for peripheral pulmonary lesions is variable and often limited. Endobronchial ultrasonography (EBUS) has been reported to help localize a bronchoscopic occult pulmonary lesion and thereby improve the diagnostic yield of transbronchial biopsy (TBB).
Methods: We evaluated the yield of EBUS-guided TBB in 50 consecutive patients with a bronchoscopic occult pulmonary lesion.
Results: The mean diameter of the lesions was 36.6 mm (SD = 19.7 mm). We could visualize 74% of the bronchoscopic occult lesions with EBUS, and in these patients, a histologic diagnosis on TBB was obtained in 84%. However, the diagnostic yield was very poor for lesions <20 mm.
Conclusion: EBUS-guided TBB is effective for localizing and diagnosing bronchoscopic occult pulmonary masses > or =20 mm, but its yield remains unsatisfactory for lesions <20 mm.

Introduction And Importance: Foreign body aspiration is a common occurrence, with severe outcomes seen in all age groups. It can present like any chronic respiratory disease with a wide spectrum of misleading symptoms, resulting in misdiagnosis and delays in appropriate treatment.
Case Presentation: Here we present a case of a 11 year boy diagnosed with occult foreign body aspiration, chronically impacted in the left secondary bronchus, presented with bronchiectasis and multiple failed attempts at bronchoscopic retrieval.

Background: Research in treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) has shown promising results with stereotactic ablative radiotherapy (SABR) of oligometastatic disease, wherein distant disease may be limited to one or a few distant organs by host factors. Traditionally, PET/CT has been used in detecting metastatic disease and avoiding futile surgical intervention, however, sensitivity and specificity is limited to only 81 and 79%, respectively. Mediastinal staging still identifies occult nodal disease in up to 20% of NSCLC patients initially thought to be operative candidates.

Pneumothorax is not an uncommon occurrence in ICU patients. Barotrauma and iatrogenesis remain the most common causes for pneumothorax in critically ill patients. Patients with underlying lung disease are more prone to develop pneumothorax, especially if they require positive pressure ventilation.
