Background: The growing demand for natural, health-promoting food products has led to increased interest in integrating nutrient-rich ingredients into everyday foods. The addition of leaves may increase nutrient profile, including essential amino acids, antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals in edible products.

Aim: The study aimed to optimize the addition of leaves in bread, noodles, and pasta and evaluate sensory attributes using a nine-point hedonic scale and nutritional analysis.

A balanced activity of cGMP signaling contributes to the maintenance of cardiovascular homeostasis. Vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) can generate cGMP via three ligand-activated guanylyl cyclases, the NO-sensitive guanylyl cyclase, the atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP)-activated GC-A, and the C-type natriuretic peptide (CNP)-stimulated GC-B. Here, we study natriuretic peptide signaling in murine VSMCs and atherosclerotic lesions.

Gene therapy in hemophilia: the dawn of a new era.

Dipartimento di Fisiopatologia Medico-chirurgica e dei Trapianti, Università degli Studi di Milano, Milano, Italia.

Hemophilia A and B are hereditary bleeding disorders associated with the X chromosome, stemming from genetic defects in the coding of coagulation factor (F)VIII or FIX protein, leading to partial or complete deficiency. In the absence of effective prophylaxis, these deficiencies can result in irreversible joint damage, known as hemophilic arthropathy, and subsequent disability. Despite advancements in hemophilia treatment, individuals with severe forms of the disease continue to face a high risk of bleeding, particularly in instances of trauma or major surgical procedures.

State Key Laboratory of Protein and Plant Gene Research, School of Advanced Agricultural Sciences, Peking University, Beijing, 100871, China.

Epigenetic mechanisms are integral to plant growth, development, and adaptation to environmental stimuli. Over the past two decades, our comprehension of these complex regulatory processes has expanded remarkably, producing a substantial body of knowledge on both locus-specific mechanisms and genome-wide regulatory patterns. Studies initially grounded in the model plant Arabidopsis have been broadened to encompass a diverse array of crop species, revealing the multifaceted roles of epigenetics in physiological and agronomic traits.
