We did human lymphocyte antigen (HLA)-DR and DQ typing on 37 subjects with mountain-cedar (MC) pollinosis as defined by history and a positive skin test. Of these 37 subjects, 31 were subdivided into 18 subjects with a single positive skin test (SPST) and 13 subjects with multiple positive skin tests (MPSTs). We also typed 51 subjects without MC sensitivity or atopy as defined by history and negative skin tests to a battery of aeroallergens. We also typed 116 subjects in whom MC sensitivity had not been determined. Total IgE, Mc-specific immunoglobulin E (sIgE), and MC-sIgE binding bands by immunoblot were also determined on the subjects with SPSTs and MPSTs. No significant differences were found between the subjects with SPSTs and MPSTs for HLA type, total IgE, MC sIgE, or bands bound by MC sIgE by immunoblot. There was a strong negative relationship between HLA-DR4 and subjects with MC pollinosis; chi-square, 14.857; p = 0.0096; and odds ratio, 0.139. These findings suggest that there is no difference in genetic immunoregulation between subjects with SPSTs and MPSTs but that the presence of the DR4 gene product is associated with a decreased risk of an IgE response to MC and protection from MC pollenosis.

Environmental pollution has been a significant concern for the last few years. The leather industry significantly contributes to the economy but is one of Bangladesh's most prominent polluting industries. It is also responsible for several severe diseases such as cancer, lung diseases, and heart diseases of leather workers because they use bleaching agents and chemicals, and these have numerous adverse effects on human health.

Verruca vulgaris is a cutaneous infection predominantly caused by human papillomavirus (HPV) type 1, 2, and 4. In immunocompromised individuals infected with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection, HPV leads to a higher prevalence of infections and also has a greater likelihood of being infected with atypical types such as genital-associated HPV in extragenital sites. This case report describes a 48-year-old male patient who presented with skin-colored verrucous papules on the hands and feet, with no evidence of genital lesions.

Aim: We review extensive results from two randomized controlled trials conducted over 9 years, comparing standard care (SC) in level-4 neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) with SC plus Family Nurture Intervention (FNI).
Methods: FNI included ~six weeks of facilitated mother-infant interactions aimed at achieving mother-infant 'autonomic emotional connection', a novel construct that describes the emotional mother-baby relationship at the level of the autonomic nervous system.
Results And Conclusion: Thus far, 18 peer-reviewed publications documented significant positive short-and long-term effects of FNI on infant neurobehavioral functioning, developmental trajectories and both mother and child autonomic health through five years.

Alpha-synuclein (ASyn), a marker of Parkinson's disease (PD) and other neurodegenerative processes, plays pivotal roles in neuronal nuclei and synapses. ASyn and its phosphorylated form at Serine 129 (p-ASyn) are involved in DNA protection and repair, processes altered in aging, neurodegeneration, and cancer. To analyze the localization of p-ASyn in skin biopsies of PD patients and melanoma.

Sexual abuse is any non-consensual sexual act or behavior using force, with significant concern in "men who have sex with men" (MSM), and younger individuals. The incidence of sexually transmitted infections (STI) is also prevalent in the cases of sexual abuse in this population, showing the need for comprehensive medical and psychological intervention. This study presents a case of a 15-year-old Indonesian MSM adolescent who experienced three forced sexual intercourse with a mid-thirties male friend 6 months before the consultation.
