Purpose: Methylation of H3 at lysine 4 (H3 Lys4) may be correlated with active gene trascription, whereas methylation of H3 at lysine 9 (H3 Lys9) may be linked to gene repression in murine cells and Schizosaccharomyces pombe.

Methods: Using Western blot analysis, heat-induced changes were studied in two human oral cancer cell lines, HSC4 (thermoresistant cells) and KB (thermosensitive cells). Histone H3 changes were studied; in particular for H3-Lys4 and H3-Lys9 methylation combined with KNK437.

Results: Heating of HSC4 cells at 45 degrees C for 20 min and KB cells for 3 min gradually increased H3-Lys4 and H3-Lys9 methylation. Treatment of both cells with 100 microM KNK437 before or after heat-treatment inhibited methylation of H3-Lys4, while methylation of H3 Lys9 remained unaffected. Use of KNK437 either before or after heat treatment inhibited the expression of HSP70.

Conclusions: The findings suggest that heat-induced methylation of histone H3 may be correlated with the induction of HSPs by heating.

Polymer cubosomes (PCs) have garnered significant interest in the field of nanomaterials and nanotechnology due to their unique properties and potential applications. However, the fabrication of PCs remains challenging. Polymerization-induced self-assembly (PISA) is recognized as an efficient method for producing a variety of polymer particles, including PCs.

In this paper, the pH-sensitive targeting functional material NGR-poly(2-ethyl-2-oxazoline)-cholesteryl methyl carbonate (NGR-PEtOz-CHMC, NPC) modified quercetin (QUE) liposomes (NPC-QUE-L) was constructed. The structure of NPC was confirmed by infrared spectroscopy (IR) and nuclear magnetic resonance hydrogen spectrum (H-NMR). Pharmacokinetic results showed that the accumulation of QUE in plasma of the NPC-QUE-L group was 1.

Dementia is a group of diseases, including Alzheimer's disease (AD), vascular dementia, Lewy body dementia, frontotemporal dementia, Parkinson's disease dementia, metabolic dementia and toxic dementia. The treatment of dementia mainly includes symptomatic treatment by controlling the primary disease and accompanying symptoms, nutritional support therapy for repairing nerve cells, psychological auxiliary treatment, and treatment that improves cognitive function through drugs. Among them, drug therapy to improve cognitive function is important.

The early symptoms of hepatocellular carcinoma patients are often subtle and easily overlooked. By the time patients exhibit noticeable symptoms, the disease has typically progressed to middle or late stages, missing optimal treatment opportunities. Therefore, discovering biomarkers is essential for elucidating their functions for the early diagnosis and prevention.
