Four compounds containing tri- and diperoxodioxouranium(VI) complexes have been synthesized under ambient conditions and structurally characterized. The crystal structures of Na4(UO2)(O2)3(H2O)12 (monoclinic, P21/c, a=6.7883(6) A, b=16.001(2) A, c=16.562(2) A, beta=91.917(2) degrees, V=1797.9(3) A3, Z=4) and Ca2(UO2)(O2)3(H2O)9 (orthorhombic, Pbcn, a=9.576(3) A, b=12.172(3) A, c=12.314(2) A, V=1435.4(6) A3, Z=4) contain clusters of triperoxodioxouranium(VI). These clusters are bonded through a network of H bonding to H2O groups and in the Ca compound by bonds to Ca2+ cations. In the crystal structure of Na2Rb4(UO2)2(O2)5(H2O)14 (orthorhombic, Pbcm, a=6.808(2) A, b=16.888(6) A, c=23.286(8) A, V=2677.5(16) A3, Z=4), triperoxodioxouranium(VI) polyhedra share a peroxide edge, forming dimers of polyhedra of composition (UO2)2(O2)5(6-). Adjacent dimers are linked through bonding to Rb+ cations and by H bonds to H2O groups. The crystal structure of K6[(UO2)(O2)2(OH)]2(H2O)7 (orthorhombic, Pcca, a=15.078(8) A, b=6.669(4) A, c=23.526(13) A, V=2366(2) A3, Z=4) contains diperoxodioxouranium(VI) polyhedra that include two OH groups. These polyhedra share an OH-OH edge, forming dimers of composition (UO2)2(O2)4(OH)2(6-). The dimers are linked by bonds to K+ cations and by H bonding to H2O groups.

Photocatalytic reduction of CO will play a major role in future energy and environmental crisis. To investigate the adsorption mechanisms of CO and HO molecules involved in the catalytic process on the surface of anatase titanium dioxide 101 (TiO(101)) and the influence of Au atom doping on their adsorption, first-principles density functional theory calculations were used. The results show that 1.

As an efficient, sustainable, and environmentally friendly semiconductor material, covalent organic frameworks (COFs) can generate hydrogen peroxide (HO) by photocatalysis, attracting wide attention in recent years. Herein, the effects of hydroxyl, methoxyl, and vinyl groups of imide-linked two-dimensional (2D) COFs on the photocatalytic production of HO were studied theoretically and experimentally. The introduction of vinyl groups greatly promotes the photogenerated charge separation and migration of COFs, providing more oxygen adsorption sites, stronger proton affinity, and lower intermediate binding energy, which effectively facilitates the rapid conversion of oxygen to HO.

Low molecular weight chondroitin sulfate (CS) has gained considerable attention for its superior bioactivity compared to native CS. In this study, the mechanisms of low molecular weight chondroitin sulfate from hybrid sturgeon cartilage (LMSCS), prepared using the HO/Vc system, on the remission of osteoarthritis (OA) were investigated both in in vitro and in vivo. A Caco-2/SW1353 co-culture cell model and a monosodium iodoacetate (MIA)-induced OA mouse model were used to validate its inhibited apoptosis, anti-inflammatory effects, and intestinal flora modulation.

During the proliferative phase of liver regeneration, insufficient regulation of hepatocyte hydrogen peroxide (HO) overproduction can result in oxidative stress and hepatocyte death. This study aims to investigate the influence of Aquaporin 5 (Aqp5) on liver regeneration by evaluating its role in reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation and NLRP3-GSDMD-mediated pyroptosis. A 70 % partial hepatectomy (PHx) model was established in Aqp5 mice to evaluate the pathological changes in the liver.

Heavy metal pollution, especially arsenic toxicity, significantly impairs plant growth and development. Phenolic acids, known for their antioxidant properties and involvement in stress signaling, are gaining increased attention as plant secondary metabolites with the potential to enhance plant resistance to these stressors. This study aimed to investigate the effects of different concentrations of syringic acid (SA1, 10 μM; SA2, 250 μM; SA3, 500 μM) on growth, photosynthetic parameters, and antioxidant activity in lettuce seedlings subjected to arsenic stress (As, 100 μM).
