The discharge of oil-laden wastewater from industrial processes and the frequent occurrence of oil spills pose severe threats to the ecological environment and human health. Membrane materials with special wettability have garnered attention for their ability to achieve efficient oil-water separation by leveraging the differences in wettability at the oil-water interface. These materials are characterized by their simplicity, energy efficiency, environmental friendliness, and reusability.

Although the concept of bioaccumulation for novel brominated flame retardants (NBFRs) is clear, the process and interfering factors of bioaccumulation are still not fully understood. The present study comprehensively evaluated the occurrence, transfer and interfering factors of NBFRs in a marine food web to provide new thought and perspective for the bioaccumulation of these compounds. The occurrence of 17 NBFRs were determined from 8 water, 8 sediment and 303 organism samples collected from Dalian Bay, China.

Due to the lack of efficient mpox diagnostic technology, mpox cases continue to increase. Recently, the great potential of deep learning models in detecting mpox and non-mpox has been proven. However, existing methods are susceptible to interference from various noises in real-world settings, require diverse non-mpox images, and fail to detect abnormal input, which makes them unsuitable for practical deployment and application.

Objectives: To evaluate the quality and types of care individuals with mild-to-moderate knee osteoarthritis receive in the Canadian Maritime provinces, and determine associations with demographic, social, and patient-reported factors.
Methods: Individuals with knee osteoarthritis were invited to complete a healthcare quality survey based on the British Columbia Osteoarthritis (BC OA) survey. The cross-sectional descriptive observational survey assessed four healthcare quality indicators: advice to exercise, advice to lose weight, assessment of ambulatory function, and assessment of non-ambulatory function.

Background: Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a complex neurodegenerative disorder with a largely unexplored epigenetic landscape.
Objective: This study employs an innovative approach that integrates multi-omics analysis and explainable machine learning to explore the epigenetic regulatory mechanisms underlying the epigenetic signature of PRRT1 implicated in AD.
Methods: Through comprehensive DNA methylation and transcriptomic profiling, we identified distinct epigenetic signatures associated with gene PRRT1 expression in AD patient samples compared to healthy controls.
