Objective: This prospective, multicentre application study was conducted to assess the clinical performance of Hydrosorb comfort hydrogel dressing.
Method: Eighty-one patients (average age 67 years) with acute or chronic wounds received three dressing changes. The condition of the wound and patient-reported pain were assessed at the beginning and end of the study period.
Results: The mean proportion of the wound surface covered with slough fell from 63% to 34%, and the mean area of new granulation and epithelial tissue increased from 25% to 37% and 13% to 28%, respectively. The average wound size decreased from 4.7 x 2.9cm to 3.7 x 2.3cm; 29.6% of the patients reported no pain at baseline, increasing to 56.3% at the final assessment.
Conclusion: Both acute and chronic wounds can be effectively treated with the Hydrosorb comfort hydrogel dressing.

Objective: Chronic wounds are a common clinical problem that necessitate the exploration of novel regenerative therapies. We report a method to investigate the in vitro wound healing capacity of an innovative biomaterial, which is based on amniotic membrane-derived stem cells (AMSCs) embedded in an alginate hydrogel matrix. The aim of this study was to prepare an sodium alginate-based hydrogel, cross-linked calcium chloride (CaCl with the active ingredient AMSC (AMSC/Alg-H) and to evaluate its in vitro effectiveness for wound closure.

Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) has been associated with structural and functional brain changes and cognitive impairment in sleep clinic samples. Persons with traumatic brain injury (TBI) are at increased risk of OSA compared to community samples, and many experience chronic cognitive disability. However, the impact of OSA on cognitive outcome after TBI is unknown.

Purpose: A substantial proportion of patients undergoing surgery for chronic subdural hematoma (CSDH) use anticoagulation medication due to atrial fibrillation (AF). We assessed the risk of postoperative thromboembolic and hemorrhagic complications in CSDH surgery patients with a history of anticoagulation for AF and their association with outcome.
Methods: This posthoc analysis of a nationwide multicenter randomized controlled trial conducted during 2020-2022 included CSDH patients undergoing surgery with a history of preoperative anticoagulation use for AF.

The management of chronic infected wounds remains a significant clinical challenge, largely due to the deficiency of optimal wound dressings with adequate mechanical strength, appropriate adhesiveness, and efficient sustainable antibacterial, reactive oxygen species (ROS) scavenging, pro-angiogenesis, and immunomodulation properties. To address such a dilemma, we employed a simple and facile strategy to utilize resveratrol (RSV) as a functional component to mediate hydrogel gelation in this study. The structure of this obtained hydrogel was supported by a multibond network, which not only endowed the resultant product with superior mechanical strength and moderate adhesiveness but also effectively prolonged the bioavailability of RSV.

Diabetic wounds present a considerable challenge in modern medicine due to their prolonged healing process, driven by sustained inflammation and impaired vascular regeneration. This study introduces a novel hydrogel network through osmosis, utilizing hyaluronic acid (HA) and phytic acid (PA) for their anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, respectively. By incorporating recombinant Human Amelogenin (rhAM), known for its angiogenic potential, we aimed to develop the HA-PA-rhAM hydrogel to enhance wound healing in diabetic rats.
