Background: The Vero cell rabies vaccine is currently the most widely used human rabies vaccine. However, owing to the presence of residual host cell DNA (HCD) in the final product and the potential tumorigenicity of the DNA of high-passage Vero cells, the WHO not only sets a limit on the number of times cells used in production can be passaged, but also imposes strict requirements on the amount of residual HCD in the final vaccine product.
Objectives: To systematically reduce the HCD level in the final vaccine product, multiple purification steps are included in the vaccine production process.

Cost-effective capacitive soil moisture sensors have the potential to be widely implemented across multiple sites for landslide early warning systems. However, these sensors need to be calibrated for specific applications to ensure high accuracy in readings.

Methane gas leakage can lead to pollution problems, such as rising ambient temperature. In this paper, the Vernier effect of a double D-shaped photonic crystal fiber (PCF) in a Sagnac interferometer (SI) is proposed for the accurate detection of mixed methane gas content in the gas. The optical fiber structure of the effective sensing in the sensing SI loop and the effective sensing in the reference SI loop are the same.
