For fixation of the material to be investigated at the light and ultrastuctural level the author suggests to use 4% formaldehyde obtained by depolymerization of paraform on 0.1 M phosphate buffer with end pH 8.0 of the solution. This fixative stabilizes well glycogen and tissue structure. The ultrastructural characteristics of cells following continuous (up to 130 days) fixation are comparable with those obtained after fixation with aldehydes by conventional techniques. Results of histological PAS test, Feulgen's reactions and those to acid polycaccharides were identical to the results obtained in fixation with neutralized formalin. The possibility of prolonged storage of tissues makes it possible to perform delayed and repeated ultrastructural investigations of clinical and experimental material.

While photochemical aging is known to alter secondary organic aerosol (SOA) properties, this process remains poorly constrained for anthropogenic SOA. This study investigates the photodegradation of SOA produced from the hydroxyl radical-initiated oxidation of naphthalene under low- and high-NO conditions. We used state-of-the-art mass spectrometry (MS) techniques, including extractive electrospray ionization and chemical ionization MS, for the in-depth molecular characterization of gas and particulate phases.

Imidazolines play pivotal roles in numerous fields. However, the direct construction of imidazolines from primary amines involves precise C-C and C-N bond formations, rendering this area still underdeveloped to this day. Herein, a photo-driven metal-free catalytic system has been successfully applied to a novel coupling-cyclization reaction between arylamines and formaldehyde, enabling the direct synthesis of various 1,3-diarylimidazolines from primary amines.

Herein, we report the successful guidance of indole and formaldehyde reactivity by precisely tuning the pore size and active sites of MOF, altering their intrinsic reaction pathways. This led to the first example of novel compounds synthesized through the synergistic catalysis enabled by MOF confinement. Detailed mechanistic studies revealed that the confined environment within the MOF pores promoted the occurrence of multi-stage cascade reactions and stabilized specific reaction pathways.

Formaldehyde (HCHO) has become a significant indoor air pollutant, arising from the widespread use of decorative and construction materials. Adsorption is the most convenient method for HCHO removal. However, the current adsorption is limited by the current low adsorption capacity and desorption.

Formaldehyde (HCHO) is a harmful volatile organic pollutant, which is commonly found in interior decoration and furniture products. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a gas sensor that can quickly and accurately detect formaldehyde for human health and environmental protection. In order to achieve this goal, in this work, SnS/SnO heterostructure was synthesized by in-situ sulfurization process on the basis of SnO nanospheres, and its formaldehyde sensing performance was studied.
