Objectives: The investigation was designed to explore the efficacy of boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT) as treatment for recurrent intracranial meningeal tumours.
Materials And Methods: Three patients with meningeal tumours, recurring after initial surgery, radiation therapy and several reoperations, were evaluated for treatment with BNCT by determination of the accumulation of boronophenylalanine fructose (BPA-F) in tumour and in surrounding tissue. Two of these patients were subsequently treated by BNCT.
Results: The present results indicate that BNCT could be effective in prolonging time to recurrence, and thus in extending survival time, for patients with recurrent intracranial meningeal tumours.
Conclusions: BNCT is potentially an effective radiation treatment modality for malignant intracranial meningeal tumours, which could increase progression-free survival, thus reducing the need for additional surgical interventions. Indications for BNCT would be even larger if recurrent grade II meningiomas could be treated, as indicated by the results of the boron uptake study.

A potential two-way passage of cells and substances between the brain and skull bone marrow may open for new insights into neurological disease. The arachnoid membrane was traditionally considered to restrict cells and larger molecules in CSF from entering the dura and bone marrow directly. However, new data on exchange between brain and skull bone marrow have recently emerged.

Pituitary Neuroendocrine Tumors (PitNETs), often treated via endonasal transsphenoidal resection, present a risk for postoperative surgical site infections (SSIs), including intracranial infections such as meningitis. Identifying the risk factors associated with these infections is crucial for improving surgical outcomes and patient care. A retrospective study was conducted at a medical center from June 2020 to June 2023.

A boy in his middle childhood presented with a gradually enlarging, mildly tender swelling in the left frontal region, noticed after minor trauma. Skull radiograph and non-enhanced CT revealed a diffuse sclerotic lesion involving the left frontal bone and overlying subcutaneous soft tissue, suggestive of an intraosseous haemangioma. Contrast-enhanced MRI showed an expansile, hypointense lesion in the frontal bone on the left side with enhancing extraosseous components and a small extra-axial cyst.

Background And Objective: Neurobrucellosis is a rare neurological disorder characterized by diverse clinical manifestations. Although several relevant cases were reported, our understanding of this disorder is limited. In this study, we presented the clinical and imaging characteristics of four cases of neurobrucellosis.
