Introduction: The complaint of dizziness can be caused by a variety of disorders affecting central or peripheral vestibular system. Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo BPPV is the most common cause of vertigo. It is a syndrom characterized by short-lasted episodes of true vertigo, induced by a rapid head position change and associated with a positional, transient nystagmus. It is classically identified by the Dix-Hallpike test. Vestibular and audiology function tests are usually normal. Patient is succesfully treated with physical maneuvres (Canalith Repositioning Procedure CRP).
Material And Methods: This raport presents eight patients (four are described in details) suffered from BPPV-PSC, hospitalized in the Department of Phoniatric and Audiology, Poznan University of Medical Sciences. Methods include laryngologic examination, audiology and vestibular tests, Dix-Hallpike'a maneuver.
Results: All patients presented characteristic history and results of performed diagnostic tests. The efficacy of physical maneuvers were confirmed.
Conclusions: BPPV is usually easy to diagnose and physical maneuvers are very effective.

Background And Purpose: Even though Benign Paroxysmal Positioning Vertigo (BPPV) is one of the most reported vestibular disorders, its interaction with frailty and postural control in older adults is hardly or not investigated.
Methods: Thirty-seven older adults (≥65 years) with a diagnosis of BPPV (oaBPPV) (mean age 73.13 (4.

Objectives: To investigate the potential utility of the C-reactive protein-to-albumin ratio (CAR) and the systemic immune-inflammatory index (SII) as a biomarker in distinguishing between BPPV and acute cerebellar infarction (ACI) due to posterior inferior cerebellar artery (PICA) involvement.
Methods: The data of 2545 patients registered in our hospital database between 2017 and 2024 with a diagnosis of vertigo were retrospectively analyzed and 102 patients with benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) and 100 patients with ACI were included in the study. Mann-Whitney U test, Chi-square test, or Fisher's exact test were used to compare variables between the two groups.

Background: Currently, there is a paucity of research comparing the clinical characteristics and repositioning efficacy between posterior canal-benign paroxysmal positional vertigo-canalolithiasis (PC-BPPV-ca) and posterior canal-benign paroxysmal positional vertigo-cupulolithiasis (PC-BPPV-cu).
Aims/objectives: To observe the clinical characteristics and compare the efficacy of repositioning maneuvers between PC-BPPV-ca and PC-BPPV-cu patients.
Material And Methods: Clinical information of patients was collected.

Introduction: Vertigo and dizziness are symptoms of various underlying conditions, ranging from benign to severe, affecting up to 40% of adults. Understanding the etiological factors and demographic characteristics associated with these symptoms is crucial for improving diagnostic accuracy and management. This study aims to identify the etiological factors contributing to vertigo and dizziness in a clinical setting and assess the effectiveness of treatment strategies.
