Purpose: The present study investigates the association between a specific polymorphism in the tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-alpha gene, consisting of allele 2 of TNF-alpha-308, and peri-implant bone loss following prosthetic reconstruction.
Materials And Methods: This case-control study included 36 patients (20 women, 16 men; mean age 46 years) who had used implant-supported prostheses for a minimum of 6 months and a maximum of 31 months. The patients were nonsmoking, white Caucasian Brazilians, in good general health, and were not receiving medication. In the case group, patients exhibited 1 or more implants with a diagnosis of peri-implant bone loss following prosthetic reconstruction; control patients had 1 or more healthy implants.
Results: Polymorphism in the TNF-alpha gene, allele 2 of TNF-alpha, was not associated with an increased risk for peri-implant bone loss following prosthetic reconstruction (P=0.19; chi2=1.71; df=1), although 21.1% of the subjects carried allele in the control group 2, and 41.2% carried allele 2 in the case group.
Conclusions: Polymorphism in allele 2 of the TNF-alpha-308 gene is not associated with an increased risk for peri-implant bone loss following prosthetic reconstruction. However, further studies based on a greater number of patients are necessary.

Objective: This observational study investigated the relationship between occlusal balance and the tightness of restorative-contralateral occlusal contact in patients undergoing dental implant restorations.
Methods: A total of 100 patients who received dental implant restorations at our hospital between July 2022 and July 2023 were included. Patients were divided into two groups based on occlusal closeness: an observation group (using 12 μm occlusal paper for occlusion) and a control group (using 20 μm occlusal paper for occlusion).

Studies have shown that the prognosis of dental implant treatment in patients with diabetes is not as good as that in the non-diabetes population. The nerve plays a crucial role in bone metabolism, but the role and the mechanism of peripheral nerves in regulating peri-implant osteogenesis under Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) situation remains unclear. In this study, it was shown that high glucose-stimulated Schwann cells (SCs) inhibited peri-implant osteogenesis via their exosomes.

Aim: To assess hard as well as soft peri-implant tissues within cases having two lost adjacent anterior teeth treated through placing either two implants with two separate crowns or only an implant along with a crown with a cantilever, and evaluating the effect of polyetheretherketone (PEEK) restoration on cantilever design up to 18 months after functional loading.
Materials And Methods: Twenty-seven participants (15 males and 12 females; mean age, 38.6 years; range 20-50 years) with missing two adjacent anterior teeth were treated with implant system (Flotecno implant system, Italy).

Purpose: Screw-retained implant crowns are a common solution to rehabilitate single or multiple edentulous sites. Angulated screw channel (ASC) abutments have been developed as a new system of connection to correct the angulation of the implant and avoid a possible undesired emergence of the access hole. The purpose of this systematic review was to examine available literature related to the effects of ASC abutments in rehabilitating single implant crowns.

Background: Tooth agenesis, particularly the absence of upper lateral incisors, presents substantial challenges for clinicians due to the associated bone atrophy, which limits the use of traditional implant solutions. Current options, such as endosseous implants combined with guided bone regeneration (GBR), often fail due to insufficient osseointegration in atrophic bone. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of custom-made, additively manufactured subperiosteal implants in addressing these challenges METHODS: This retrospective study assessed 16 custom-made subperiosteal implants used in 12 patients (10 females, 2 males; mean age 25 ± 2.
