In this paper we propose a method for the nonrigid registration of contrast-enhanced dynamic sequences of magnetic resonance(MR) images. The algorithm has been developed with accuracy in mind, but also has a clinically viable execution time (i.e. a few minutes) as a goal. The algorithm is driven by multiresolution optical flow with the brightness consistency assumption relaxed, subject to a regularized best-fit within a family of transforms. The particular family of transforms we have employed uses a grid of control points and trilinear interpolation. We present validation results from a study simulating non-rigid deformation by a biomechanical model of the breast, with simulated uptake of a contrast agent. We further present results from applying the algorithm as part of a routine breast cancer screening protocol.

Modifying the structure of an existing network is a common method to further improve the performance of the network. However, modifying some layers in network often results in pre-trained weight mismatch, and fine-tune process is time-consuming and resource-inefficient. To address this issue, we propose a novel technique called Identity Model Transformation (IMT), which keep the output before and after transformation in an equal form by rigorous algebraic transformations.

This work addresses fundamental questions that deepen our understanding of secondary coordination sphere effects on carbon dioxide (CO2) reduction using derivatized hydride analogues of the type, [Cp*Fe(diphosphine)H] (Cp* = C5Me5-) - a well-studied family of organometallic complex - as models. More precisely, we describe the general reactivity of [(Cp*-BR2)Fe(diphosphine)H], which contains an intramolecularly positioned Lewis acid, and its cooperative reactivity with CO2. Control experiments underscore the critical nature of borane incorporation for CO2 to reduced products, a reaction that does not occur for unfunctionalized [Cp*Fe(diphosphine)H]).

Bromodomain-containing protein 4 (BRD4) plays a vital role in fibrosis of various organs. However, the underlying mechanism of BRD4 in renal fibrosis remains unclear. To construct in vitro and in vivo models of renal fibrosis, TCMK-1 cells were subjected to TGF-β1 treatment and mice were subjected to UUO surgery and adenine induction.

In recent decades, affirmative actions have enabled Indigenous people to access medical school, historically occupied by white people with high family incomes. This research analyzed experiences of otherness by Indigenous people in federal medical schools. This qualitative, exploratory study adopted interviews and conversation circles, with the participation of 40 students from 15 courses.

Familial platelet disorder (FPD) is associated with germline mutations, establishing a preleukemic state and increasing the risk of developing leukemia. Currently, there are no intervention strategies to prevent leukemia progression. Single-cell RNA sequencing ( = 10) combined with functional analysis of samples from patients with -FPD ( > 75) revealed that FPD hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells (HSPCs) displayed increased myeloid differentiation and suppressed megakaryopoiesis because of increased activation of prosurvival and inflammatory pathways.
