A cubic quadruple perovskite oxide CeMnCrO has been synthesized under high-pressure and high-temperature conditions of 8 GPa and 1273 K. The X-ray absorption spectroscopy reveals that the Ce ions are in a trivalent state, as represented by the ionic model of CeMnCrO. The magnetic study demonstrates three independent antiferromagnetic transitions attributed to Ce (∼10 K), Mn (46 K), and Cr (133 K) ions.

Here we report the first examples of 3d-4f compounds based on LnII cations. We have obtained a series of Ni2[LnCl6] isostructural compounds where LnII = Ce 1, Eu 2 and Gd 3 which were characterized in a cubic crystalline system with a Fm3[combining macron]m space group. Magnetic and optical characterization was also performed on this new class of compounds.

The first successful attempt to construct 3D supramolecular frameworks with high-nuclear 3d-4f heterometallic clusters as a node is reported. The self-assembly of Ln3+, Cu2+ and amino acid in solution leads to the formation of two polymers, 35-nuclear complex [Sm6Cu29] 1 with a primitive cubic net-like structure and 36-nuclear complex [Nd6Cu30] 2 with a face-centred cubic network type structure. Glycine and L-proline, respectively, were used as ligands.
