Sarcoidosis is a systemic inflammatory disease characterized by the formation of noncaseating epithelioid granulomas. Multiple organs, including the lung, eyes, and skin, are involved in this disorder, and cardiac involvement is a major cause of morbidity and mortality in patients with this disorder. We present the case history of a 22-year-old man with neurosarcoidosis complicated by abrupt onset of cardiac tamponade.

Purpose Of Review: To review the most recent advances and provide a description of the most common autoimmune diseases causing myelitis and selective spine disorders. The ultimate goal of this article is to facilitate the prompt recognition of these diseases.
Recent Findings: The recent discovery of biomarkers such as aquaporin 4 (AQP4) and myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein (MOG) antibodies has changed our understanding of autoimmune diseases affecting the spinal cord as well as their treatment and outcomes.

Objective: Acute transverse myelitis is a relatively rare, frequently debilitating but potentially treatable emergency. The objective of this study was to evaluate the incidence and etiology of acute transverse myelitis in two major hospital districts in Southern Finland.
Methods: We identified all patients with acute transverse myelitis admitted to Turku University Hospital and Päijät-Häme Central hospital during nine years.

Background: Chronic lymphocytic inflammation with pontine perivascular enhancement responsive to steroids (CLIPPERS) syndrome is an immune-mediated, treatable and inflammatory CNS disease first reported by Pittock et al. (2010).
Case Presentation: We describe a 66-year-old man with previous history of diabetes, atrial fibrillation and hypertension, who was admitted to hospital with reduced general condition.
