There is growing evidence that programmed cell death plays a significant role in the pathogenesis of chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH). Anoikis is a newly discovered type of programmed death and has garnered great attention. However, the precise involvement of Anoikis in the progression of CTEPH remains poorly understood.

Minocycline prevents monocrotaline-induced pulmonary hypertension through the attenuation of endothelial dysfunction and vascular wall thickening.

Pulmonary hypertension (PH) is a progressive disease with a poor prognosis in which high pulmonary artery pressure leads to right heart failure, therefore, there is an urgent need to elucidate pathological mechanisms and to develop new treatment for PH. Minocycline has not only antibacterial effects but also anti-inflammatory effects in various tissues. We hypothesize that minocycline could prevent PH development in rats.

This study examined the chemical composition, including moisture content, total fat, iodine value, melting point, saponification number, differential scanning calorimetry, fatty acid profiles, and color values (L*, a*, b*), in abdominal (A) and subcutaneous (S) fat of 15-week-old geese from three female varieties: Turkish (Lo), Linda (Li), and Mast (Ma). Results showed significantly higher moisture content in Lo-S compared to abdominal fats (P < 0.05), with consistent fat contents among goose varieties in abdominal fats.

Objective: To investigate whether cardiac mast cells (MCs) participate in pressure overload-induced myocardial hypertrophy through the regulation of transient receptor potential vanilloid 4 (TRPV4).

Methods: Pressure overload-induced myocardial hypertrophy was induced via abdominal aortic constriction (AAC). Myocardial hypertrophy was evaluated by measuring the heart weight index (HW/BW), lung weight index (LW/BW), ratio of heart weight to tibia length (HW/TL), ratio of lung weight to tibia length (LW/TL), and cross-sectional area of myocardial cells.

Introduction: Patients with uncontrolled, moderate-to-severe asthma have a higher risk for exacerbations, negatively impacting lung function and quality of life. Dupilumab, a fully human monoclonal antibody, blocks interleukins 4 and 13, key and central drivers of type 2 inflammation. Dupilumab has been effective in the treatment of certain types of moderate-to-severe asthma across several clinical trials.
