Background And Aims: Recently proposed "Rule-of-Five" criteria define compensated advanced chronic liver disease (cACLD) and clinically significant portal hypertension (CSPH) using liver stiffness (LS) and platelet count. We aimed to validate these criteria by determining whether they are associated with risk of adverse outcomes.

Approach And Results: Patients without prior hepatic decompensation or HCC who underwent LS and platelet measurements (n = 17,076) were categorized as follows: no cACLD (LS: 2.

Aims And Background: Matrix metalloproteinase-7 (MMP-7) and Syndecan-1 (SDC1) are involved in multiple functions during tumorigenesis. We aimed to evaluate the diagnostic and prognostic performance of these serum proteins, as potential biomarkers, in patients with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) and benign pancreatic cysts.

Methods: In this case-control study, patients with newly diagnosed PDAC (N = 121) were compared with the benign cyst (N = 66) and healthy control (N = 48) groups.

When a mass occurs at the staple line following lung resection, it can be difficult to distinguish between local cancer recurrence and granuloma. We present a case of a staple-line granuloma with 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose-positron emission tomography uptake and elevated serum carbohydrate antigen 19-9 (CA19-9) in a patient with ovarian cancer lung metastasis. After granuloma resection, serum CA19-9 levels normalized, and CA19-9 positive cells were identified in the resected tumor.

Urine cytology is a noninvasive, widely used diagnostic tool for screening and surveillance of genitourinary tract neoplasms. However, the absence of unified terminology and clear objective morphological criteria limits the clinical benefit of urine cytology. The Paris System for Reporting Urine Cytology (TPS) was developed with the goal of standardizing reporting and improving urine cytology performance in detecting high-grade malignancy (HGM).

Purpose: Clinical decision support systems (CDSS) are used to identify drugs with potential need for dose modification in patients with renal impairment. ChatGPT holds the potential to be integrated in the electronic health record (EHR) system to give such dosing advices. In this study, we aim to evaluate the performance of ChatGPT in clinical rule-guided dose interventions in hospitalized patients with renal impairment.
