A case of subcutaneous splenosis in the abdominal wall of a 23-year-old oligophrenic man is reported. Further, the most important features of splenosis in various localisations are provided. The patient presented with a well-demarcated 8x7x5 cm subcutaneous tumour in the left inguinal area closely above the scar after a previous operation for hernia. The lesion simulated clinically a hernia or a tumour due to its large size and location. Additionally, no history could be taken from the patient due to his mental handicap. The diagnosis of splenosis was established histologically.

Objectives: To assess the diagnostic accuracy, in a validation cohort, of a score based on three CT items, which has shown good performance for predicting ischaemia complicating acute adhesive small-bowel obstruction (SBO).
Methods: This retrospective single-centre study of diagnostic accuracy included consecutive patients admitted for acute adhesive SBO in 2015-2022, who were treated conservatively or underwent surgery within 24 h after CT. The gold standard for ischaemia was an intraoperative diagnosis for operated patients, while the absence of ischaemia was confirmed either by its absence during surgery or by clinical follow-up in patients who did not undergo surgery.

Introduction and importance: Extrapelvic endometriosis, confined exclusively to the body of the rectus abdominis muscle, is a rare form of abdominal wall endometriosis. While its etiopathology remains unclear, it is often diagnosed in healthy women who present with atypical symptoms and localization unrelated to any incision site, or in the absence of a history of endometriosis or previous surgery. Presentation of the case: Here, we describe a unique case of intramuscular endometriosis of the rectus abdominis muscle in a healthy 39-year-old Caucasian woman.
