AI Article Synopsis

  • The study aimed to assess how different irrigating solutions affect the accuracy of the Tri Auto ZX electronic apex locator during root canal procedures.
  • A total of 140 teeth were extracted and categorized into seven groups based on the irrigating solution used, including saline, NaOCl, H2O2, chlorhexidine, EDTA, Ultracaine D-S, and a control group without any solution.
  • Results showed that the measurements from the file tip to the apical constriction were significantly longer when using 0.9% saline, while the other solutions did not show a significant difference in accuracy.

Article Abstract

Aim: To determine the influence of various irrigating solutions on the accuracy of the electronic apex locator facility in the Tri Auto ZX handpiece.

Methodology: One hundred and forty teeth with single canals and mature apices, scheduled for extraction for either periodontal or prosthetic reasons in 76 patients were used. Following informed written consent local anaesthesia was administered, access cavities were prepared and pulp tissue removed. The teeth were then randomly divided into seven groups according to the irrigating solutions used. The root canal length measurements were completed using the Tri Auto ZX handpiece with automatic reverse function in the presence of one or other of the following solutions: 0.9% saline, 2.5% NaOCl, 3% H(2)O(2), 0.2% chlorhexidine, 17% EDTA, Ultracaine D-S or in the absence of an irrigating solution (control). Files were immobilized in the access cavity with composite resin. After extraction, the apical regions of the teeth were exposed and the file tips examined under a stereomicroscope. Distances between the file tips and the apical constriction were measured (mm) and analysed using a one-way anova and post hoc Tukey test.

Results: Mean distances from the apical constriction to the file tip were longer in the 0.9% saline group (P<0.05). There was no statistically significant difference on file tip position between the other solutions.

Conclusions: Tri Auto ZX gave reliable results with all irrigating solutions apart from in the presence of 0.9% saline.

The expansion of irrigated agriculture in semi-arid regions exacerbates the degradation of wetland ecosystems. Precision water recharge can facilitate near-natural restoration of degraded wetlands by alleviating the conflict between wetlands and agricultural water use. However, although the ecological significance of precision water recharge as a nature-based solution for restoring wetland vegetation has been widely acknowledged, the mechanisms driving its role in spikelet development and seed growth in Carex schmidtii Meinsh.

Background: The smear layer formed during root canal instrumentation negatively affects root canal irrigation activity, which in turn can affect the treatment prognosis of endodontic treatment.

Aim: The aim of this study is to compare the efficiency of smear layer and debris removal in root canals using different irrigation protocols using scanning electron microscopy (SEM).

Materials And Methods: The quality of smear layer removal throughout the root canal was assessed in 30 intact extracted teeth divided into 3 groups according to the irrigation protocol: Group 1: 3% sodium hypochlorite (NaOCL) alternately with 17% ethylenediaminetetraacetic acetate (EDTA) was used.

The gradual increase in the consumption of mineral nitrogen is leading to heightened levels of harmful air pollutants, particularly NO emissions from the agriculture sector. A potential solution to address the issues arising from the excessive use of urea in wheat is the substitution of conventional urea with nano urea. This study aimed to quantify the effects of nano urea, both independently and in conjunction with prilled urea, under various agroclimatic and sowing conditions in India.

The global scarcity of irrigation-grade water poses severe concerns in the agricultural sector. Desalination techniques including reverse osmosis, electrodialysis, capacitive deionization, membrane filtration, and multi-stage flash are some dynamic solutions to mitigate this challenge. In this study, novel bio-filter materials were explored and developed for the application of membrane-based electrodialysis.
