Morphological diversity variation of seed traits among 587 germplasm resources of Medicago Genus and 32 germplasm resources of Trigonella Genus.

Sci Rep

January 2025

Ministry of Education Key Laboratory of Cell Activities and Stress Adaptations, School of Life Sciences, Lanzhou University, Lanzhou, 730000, People's Republic of China.

Germplasm resources within the Medicago genus are highly regarded for their value as forage crops and their critical roles in nitrogen cycling, ecosystem restoration, and soil structure improvement. Therefore, understanding the diversity of seed morphology in this genus is essential for advancing its development and utilization. This study analyzed seed samples from 587 germplasm accessions representing 77 species within Medicago genus, as well as 32 accessions from 21 species within the closely related genus Trigonella.

Chikungunya virus (CHIKV) is primarily associated with non-human-primates (NHPs) in Africa, which also infect humans. Since its introduction to Brazil in 2014, CHIKV has predominantly thrived in urban cycles, involving Aedes aegypti mosquitoes. Limited knowledge exists regarding CHIKV occurrence and implications in rural and sylvatic cycles where neotropical NHPs are potential hosts, from which we highlight Leontopithecus chrysomelas (Kuhl, 1820), the golden-headed lion tamarin (GHLT), an endangered species endemic to the Atlantic Forest (AF) in Southern Bahia State, Brazil.

Stem Cell Therapy for Diseases of Livestock Animals: An In-Depth Review.

Vet Sci

January 2025

Department of Biotechnology, School of Bioengineering and Biosciences, Lovely Professional University, Phagwara 144411, Punjab, India.

Stem cells are unique, undifferentiated cells that have the ability to both replicate themselves and develop into specialized cell types. This dual capability makes them valuable in the development of regenerative medicine. Current development in stem cell research has widened their application in cell therapy, drug discovery, reproductive cloning in animals, and cell models for various diseases.

is an endangered tree species, and detecting its genetic diversity can reveal the mechanisms of endangerment, providing references for the conservation of genetic resources. Samples of 137 trees across seven populations within Fujian Province were collected and sequenced using double-digest restriction site-associated DNA (ddRAD-seq). A total of 3,687,189 single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) were identified, and 15,158 high-quality SNPs were obtained after filtering.
